Python seems like a fine choice. Except not really on Windows, and I do wonder how the GUI was generated then. It kinda looks like winforms.
Did it make a C# program for the GUI and then invoked a python script through external progress execution to get an output or whatever?
Seems QT would have been a more obvious choice in that regard, but it just doesn't look like a QT interface
