I'm gonna give you the shortest, briefest form of the Marxist argument, and when I do you're gonna either call me retarded, or say it's ridiculous, but either way here it goes.
Because hundreds of years ago a tradesman had full ownership and control of everything he owned (ex: a guy making wagons made everything from the wheels, to axles, to the frame itself, with his own tools) he actually had full control and ownership of the wealth he made by selling it.
But, because in the modern day, a dude in a Toyota factory ONLY bolts on tires, owns none of the tools in the factory, and is micromanaged by some dude above him that totally does no work ever, just sits around being a tight ass, that worker owns nothing, and is in fact being exploited because the pay he should be getting is being cut in half, and divided up to pay for that tight ass above him and the facilities around him.
Thusly, that worker should rise up, kill the manager, and demand that the entire factory floor actually be owned by him, and every other floor worker there, so that only they can profit 100% off the work they do.
This is where that "seize the means of production" meme comes from.
We still on the same page?
