Every single psychiatric diagnosis is "made up." It's a social science. There aren't really new ones being made up as much as there's been constant efforts to refine and narrow down behaviors closely related enough to be considered a specific pathology with recognized potential causes and effects within that specific grouping of symptoms. Saying BPD is just PTSD ignores the fact that most cases of BPD are not able to be traced back to one specific traumatic event, unlike PTSD, with PTSD having a completely different set of symptoms from BPD altogether even if SOME are similar.
Ironically, you're thinking in black and white right now. Really makes you think.
