Yes, this, exactly. I have friends who are 20 years older than me AND 15 years younger. People who only talk to people who are the same age as themselves are insufferable annoying assholes who need to be hit by jetplanes. I spent time talking to some 18yo IRL today, not even attractive, too skinny, not a great face. I didn't care.
