I have mixed feelings about it.
They changed the story from androids to various type of human-machine mixes and thinking machines. Which sucks.
However I find the thought interesting how humans could stay human after their consciousness transplanted into a machine. In the show they put (ill) kids into artificial bodies, and those synths don't produce the hormones and whatevers a real body produce, so no physical reactions to emotions. And I wonder how a person could grow old in those. Would their perception remain childish, since their bodies don't change either anymore. Growing up partially comes from the maturing of the body and the interaction of the body and mind. They should have made a movie or a telly show out of this instead. A separate one not related to the Alien franchise.
