Because the neighbours have full CCTV surveillance on my driveway and front yard, if I bump into them over the coming days I will not be able to lie to them and say I went somewhere tomorrow for Christmas.
I will just have to admit I stayed home alone all day. The shame of being caught lying about it would be worse than the alternative.

This is how we must live in the surveillance state. Can't even lie to the neighbours about anything any more.
