You need a permit to hunt roo. They issue a number of tags to individual hunters each year and you have to tag each roo you kill. There are big penalties (for Whites) if you are caught with a roo carcass and no tag.
Other species like feral pigs, deer, etc are much less hassle
Ducks are seasonal and subject to hippy/goverment whims
