I am planning on building up a steel bike but I've settled on the disc brake Fairlight Strael, as I want some more tyre clearance and possibility for mudguards. I had thought about the travel aspect before but I don't think I'll be traveling soon with the kid.

Now that you show those photos the design is pretty odd. Maybe the idea is that people are on the drops and it's accessible from there? then again I would think it'd be lower than where it is now. But yeah a quite odd design, perhaps I should ask some boomer campag fan what he thinks the rationale behind it is
