I guess it comes from our family being quite poor when I was a child, learnt the value of money from my parents and grandparents. Now as an adult I have more money than I can ever spend, and yet I get a psychological block when I buy something really expensive if I can't justify it being better than a lower priced version. So I end up buying Chinesium frames for peanuts instead of Sir Velo and S Works.
