I am still yet to go on a road bike ride.
But I have become conscientious towards it, or in general in everything not only when I feel like it so:

>need to check and fasten all the bolts that need to be fastened
>got my torque wrench
>have to wait for 3/4 inch bits to arrive because I have only 1/2 and 1/4 inch ones
>only then can i sit on it
>then i will, ride to the car wash
>car wash! whoawhoawhoa
>clean the chain and drivertrain that was already cleaned before winter
>ride back, dry bike in the sun
>apply rohloff oil
>reindex anything that needs to be reindexed
>check brakes
>charge gombuder
>charge heart rate monitor
>inflate tires to target presh
