Though a name whitelist like we have IPs now, could potentially be nice. I don't imagine many people want to share their IPs, even though it's not really that secret.
And the case for posters here, are due to phone networks or dynamic IPs, making an IP whitelist less useful.
Obviously a name whitelist isn't useful for all boards since not all have names, but it's still less personal than an IP
