I think this girl is supposed to be more like a mermaid, and it wouldn't be the first time I've seen them depicted with knife ears. She also had the skrillex haircut. The redesign was a big upgrade.

I am basing this solely on fanart, but I have seen like 10x as much of Zani as Phoebe. Or Carlotta for that matter. And I have seen 0 of Roccia.
