On today's video by Matt of WillyOAM he introduces this article:
https://ridl.io/can-the-russia-ukraine-war-transition-to-maneuver-warfare/>Can the Russia-Ukraine War Transition to Maneuver Warfare?>As the Russia-Ukraine War approaches its fifth year, the question of operational dynamics remains foremost for military analysts.>military analysts>retardsFor Western military thought the non plus ultra of warfare is maneuver warfare and they see everything through this glasses. They can't imagine that there are other ways to fight a war. This is why they misunderstand everything what Russia does.
What they also usually don't get that for Russia, Ukraine is just one theater of operations, while for Ukraine this is the whole war for them. Sure Russia don't have to fight openly on other theaters, but they still exists for the Russian view of their own military issues.
Otherwise it's an interesting article.
>Russian troops advance in small units Oh really? Not meatwave banzai attacks?
And yes this "reconnaissance-strike complex" is very important. Basically the drones and all the tactics built around them took the place of nuclear weapons (or at least how the Soviet imagined their use)
