What you're referring to is volatility correction. It does not create a secondary mmr for you, at best you get matched with significantly higher mmrs that goes against fair play but your mmr is still tracked the same way as always.
If you win the high volatility games that are hedged against you, your volatility increases and the amount you gain is much bigger than the usual one you would have for a fair game.
