Yea the story of Kingmaker was... Mid at best tbh. WotR has better story imo but I haven't finished it yet so maybe it becomes a trashfire in the second half. There's a bunch of fights that are there just to pad things out, but I dunno, it's more of an old crpg design and I don't feel it that bad.
You can't really have every fight be a challenge or a new gimmick. Well you can but then you're making a mod for NWN that took like 10+ years to develop and still isn't finished afaik.
