I have never heard anyone say that the difference between the bad one and the normal one is the direction of it. At least here, most people just consider them all bad and the ones that know consider it bad if it is angled (though since not many know it, they end up assuming anyone drawing one probably intended it to be the bad one, even in the absence of the angle)
