Have they actually implemented it in UK?
They've been juggling that idea too around here but I don't think it went anywhere and for a good reason obviously. They can still "draft" you anyway with the old laws.
I am personally ineligible though, my vision is so bad that I am not sure if they could even do anything about it unless they've changed the rules (as they are stated on the site they can't let me in into combat role) or I would actively lie to get in (why would I ever do that I have no idea).

Well, none of us has kids so we would all be eligible for that tax but also LMAOing at whoever thought it was a good idea to put on additional tax burden of ~10% on the income pre-tax. That comes to around 13%, making the minimum wage come down effectively from 3500 funny money to ~3050 funny money (and half of that reduction for a person with 1 kid)
Afaik that would ALSO be doubled on the employer side of things (at least in the regular contract capacity) which would explicitly make the employers prefer people with kids which has implications I don't even want to ponder. Like what? Will employers suddenly require for you to have at least 2 kids???? So stupid.
