It's fun. Entirely overkill, you can kill the starter bases with a car alone, and by the time you hit construction bots you can have a tank and autorepairing bots to keep it alive, there's never need for more than a little wall and a few turrets to delay attacks on vital corners of the base..

but, I enjoy doing it. it's simple and lets me just ignore the biters for a long time
