I wouldn't say Hearthstone monetization is bad. I played Marvel Snap for half a year and holy fuck not only everything was much more expensive, cards could only be acquired on specific weeks to the point you'd have to wait months only to get a chance of opening the card you want in a lootbox.
Nowadays they give you a full netdeck of your choice just by returning to the game, and even if they didn't I probably have enough accumulated wealth to get every card in the current rotation. I love Blizzard Entertainment!!
