Mednafen requires quite significantly more resources and bandwidth than ZSNES, and when it desyncs (and it does) it can still fuck over a serious runthrough of a game even though it resyncs after some time. ZSNES v1.36 on the other hand doesn't desync period. I only use Mednafen when I want to netplay Genesis or PC Engine stuff since it's the best option for those.
