Mednafen requires quite significantly more resources and bandwidth than ZSNES, and when it desyncs (and it does) it can still fuck over a serious runthrough of a game even though it resyncs after some time. ZSNES v1.36 on the other hand doesn't desync period. I only use Mednafen when I want to netplay Genesis or PC Engine stuff since it's the best option for those.

Also Mednafen's interface is seriously fucking garbage. It's something you never enjoy but deal with the netplay some things.
