I dreamed I was high on shrooms. It felt weird, like I was a floating or on a cloud. I didn't feel happy or scared, just confused at the sensation. I never have used drugs like that so may be some sort of old memory of nitrous from the dentist as a reference for a psychedelic.

This would almost be good copy pasta. Honestly though, as far as dreams go, I think the nightmarish aspect comes from your dislike for the culture around those shows over anything inherently subconscious if you wanted me to hazard a guess.
