“The Mirror of Fire. Chapter 2: A legend was reborn”

Written and translated in the 25th of November (2018).

I didn´t expect to make this part so long in the first place. There haven´t been plans nor daydreams for thinking about this part deeply.

I wanted to reach to the transformation because it will lead to something else in the future. The only writing process here was following the most organic dialogue possible and avoiding huge changes in Celestia´s character so abruptly for avoiding over the edge moments.

Little by little, the biggest analysis I can make out of this is the signs from a nice figure to a totalitarian one. This part has politics in it but they are more subtle and they are translated into more dialogue and gesture from the protagonist.

Again, I follow the 1st person narrative and that offers a more human and rational explanation of introducing and making Daybreaker real into the world.

In the first part, I said that Celestia hides these thoughts way better than Luna but that doesn´t mean she´s free of committing any sin. In fact, not sharing that problem could lead into a self-ego that translates into a less nice vision of her. More daring, less sympathetic and all of this with a factor that comes into play: her lack of sleep.

Sure, she is a princess that has lived long enough, almost an eternal deity for some fans. However, while she is able to recover herself from the fire and high temperatures, she cannot hold the consequences like the lack of sleep. Stress, obsessions for anything, failing at her plans….this is a slow process that tired her more and more. It translates into falling low on guarding herself and she only can focus on one thing.

The effect of the mirror from the first part has an influence and while she accepted the spirit, it suggested to her for her own acceptance. That same magical mirror served to look at her hidden side and appreciate it....closely enough.
