>You did. Almost flawlessly in my opinion. The dialog feels extremely organic, especially the whole problem that is driving Celestia to this with the railroad. Princess Celestia feels plausibly in character. I think there may bit a bit of edge but you're within a acceptable cone of uncertainty. Not to the point of being just edgy for edginess sake.
I can die happily after reading this then. I wanted to introduce Daybreaker into the actual world and put transmit that grey zone again like I did in past fics. It´s obvious that I had to add a slice of edginess to it because the evil side has to intimidate and lead into an uncomfortable direction.
However, that was present in all the fic and the changes have been (fortunately without forcing them) changing gradually with a series of events that try to justify that darker tone.

It´s almost like I have been writing it with the mindset of avoiding that line.

>What is the core of this problem? Is it Luna's wish for the bat ponies?
nope. Celestia misunderstands her sister because she takes the topic as hers so when they argue, she transmits the problem as if it was a personal one. Luna is supposedly representing the bats but transmits her arguments as if they came from her directly.

>But is that good policy? To grant to those that whine the most what they want first? Will that just lead you to be stepped on? Or is it the system itself for having to worry about different groups to placate and satisfy? These are all things I could see being in Celestia's head as the doubt creeps in.
it´s indeed that good policy, those good vibes and the smile she has kept almost all the time. The fact that she hides what she has to think about and decide what to do consumes her and it looks like she has to be the voice of reason and the wishes´ box for those who come at her.

>Celestia is being childish or she has a deeper hatred than she realizes.
her "evil" side is leaking more by this point. I wanted you to notice those little changes and how the consequences are paying off. First, she hasn´t taken a rest. Nobody can survive the symptoms of living as a zombie.Secondly, she thinks that Luna is causing more trouble to what she wants than support.

>This is something that makes me think of my own ideas with Princess Bat Cadence at least one of the paths Is part of this her nature that she has been denying herself?
