>>15415One of my fears is that following the destruction of the Democrat party, which won't ever recover, we will be in a one party system, which is even worse than a two party system...
Yes, I'm very happy that finally the party of slavery, the party of the KKK, the party of Jim Crow, the party against civil rights, the party of pedophiles, etc etc etc, is finally dying... but at what cost?
I hold a lot of constitutionalist and/or libertarian view. The demonrats stole the world "liberal" and they are hardly that. Hence -- libertarian. The views of many of the founding fathers, limited government size and power, high personal freedom, etc.
So I do hope the libertarian party, which is already an established minor party, becomes the new second party. Republican vs Libertarian -- can't really lose there, the non-neocon platforms are very much aligned.
Problem is, I believe the libertarian party is cucked, and is more "corporate rule" than libertarian ideals, these days. Though, I don't think they have a single person in congress. Maybe one rep, but haven't had really any power.
What if a new party was formed -- the KAG (Keep America Great) party? Can actually represent the ideals of freedom, per the founding fathers' intent, and ensure we don't end up in an authoritarian state via one party rule.
Don't get me wrong, the GOP needs to clean house, but anyone who is good out there is a Republican...
If we have two parties with very similar ideals but different approaches, I think we can actually start to evolve government into a state of individual thinkers rather than party-line holders.
Have voters vote on ideals, AND their merit / ability to achieve those ideals, rather than choosing heads or tails on the ballot...
