NOTE: Despite Hillary Clinton’s demands for public testimony, there is a standard procedure for high profile witnesses.
First, the witness sits for a non-public deposition so that both Republicans and Democrats have an opportunity to ask questions and gather evidence.
After the deposition, a public hearing is held. The idea is to focus on the main issues in the public session, and avoid efforts by the witness to obstruct or “filibuster” important lines of questioning.
Special Counsel Jack Smith’s testimony was handled in exactly the same manner.
FOLLOW THE MONEY: Clinton denied knowledge of Maxwell or Epstein involvement in setting up the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) or Clinton Foundation.
On the funding for CGI and Clinton Foundation, Clinton testified, "I did not solicit funds from Jeffrey Epstein."
On the entities that bear their names, Hillary Clinton testified, "I was not involved in the creation of the (Clinton) Foundation or CGI in those early years."
