This January 22, 1954, CIA Project ARTICHOKE document is a feasibility evaluation of whether a subject could be involuntarily induced—through a single uncontrolled social encounter—to attempt the assassination of a prominent politician using ARTICHOKE techniques (drugs, hypnosis, etc.). The memo explicitly includes both foreign political officials as the primary target and American officials as a fallback option.
