My honest opinion about the middle east is what Harlan Ellison once said: I want the entire region, from Egypt to Pakistan, encased in a glass dome forever. No comms in or out. We open a tiny door every ten years to see if they're still fighting and if they are, we close it again.
Anyone who has an opinion about who deserves to own the region gets sent to the dome with some trail mix and a jug of water. Good luck in there.
