Factory reset the phone, install the self-custody wallet (Xaman for XRP is what I use), disable the internet/airplane mode it, generate the wallet seed, write it down, turn off the phone.
In your other phone, use the address of the wallet in another xaman, add as a view only wallet so you can check its value.
Transfer some coins to it, it needs a minimal of 1XRP to activate it but you can do like 15+ because of the fees.
Wait a few hours and check if its still there.
