I assumed it was French because La indicates female gender in French (male: le). Famida is an actual name though. I didn't look into it because we used it repeatedly and received no correction from the entity being channelled, The Infernal Queen. She would have told us if we spelled it wrongly. The channeler who spelled out the name is of Arabic heritage so there is a possibility there was a bias for interpreting the name as an Arabic name rather than a French name. But I asked the Queen just now to be sure and received the reply that "no, Famida is correct" with an addition that France earlier in history had large muslim areas so Arabic sounding names were common "the meaning of the name has simply been lost in time".
