Your thinking process is good and very similar to mine so am gonna give you my opinions because I was also on this stage too.

Did you play the touhou games? The only reason humans are not devoured by yokai is because Reimu and the spellcard rules. The cute danmaku is a mechanic because if someone is not playing by that then everyone is allowed to release her full power. Reimu is a lazy shrine maiden but when an "incident" happens she turns into a demigod and can call upon all the Shinto gods for help and she becomes unstoppable. When Reimu solves an "incident" the yokai becomes friendly because that is their only way of survival. There is an important status quo and NAPs between the yokai tribes so it doesn't lead to a massacre. Everybody can live in peace in their "territory". While the human village is full with yokai the yokai have to behave as humans there. And the humans are not leaving the place because they know it's dangerous "out there". In Gensokyo those without spiritual power or without desire to cultivate doesn't really have too many options.
My goal on the path is also to make the spiritual and material world closer. But it's no simple matter. You have to understand the laws and mechanics to make sure only those forces can come here that help the cultivation of the people and the planet itself.

The "Modern society" is the shittiest hellhole we have currently. Especially cultivationwise. "Hell is other people" as the saying goes. (Also there are many hell dimensions with different functions but I am sure you are aware of this)
I am also seeing glimpses of the full might of the human potential and I am working with many ancient deities that have a quite negative opinion of some of the "races" that "tresspass" upon earth so I had to ask them if I will continue the path will I get in opposition with the galfed.

They told me the galfed are aware of the rules and the earth is currently in an extremely transitional period. We are going through from one cycle into an another. The current cycle sucks and it's coming to an end. The NWO wants to "rule" the next cycle. But they are so incompetent and unfit for that they will fail no matter what.

The earth is not gonna become a commie shithole like the previous ones (like srsly there was not a single commie regime that was the same because the Marxist ideas were too vague even Lenin realized that it cannot work Stalin went into full blown statism and only Trotsky remained with the original "internationale" idea and he died because of it).
Communism as an idea is real complicated. Nobody understands it in it's full extent. When BO is talking about how he is getting space furries to do that right I am also talking with my entities how that will work out.
