I get the impression that it would be much faster for a vampire to become spiritual and move on if they only wanted to do it. Surely some vampires may be ignorant and don't know what to do or that they can do it, but I get the impression that most simply like the state they are in and get comfy and never do anything to improve. In that sense they may be considered very "mundane" despite their powers and immortality. That's why they only move on when the planet ends because they are at that point forced to let go of their attachments.
So when you're a vampire you should become spiritual and remove your attachments and gravity in order to evolve and move on. Even if not a vampire one should do the same obvious thing, it's basic stuff really. But vampires seem to love being earth bound and stuck in limbo so much that they simply will not do anything to improve. More and more do I understand how it is only they themselves and their ignorance who keeps them locked in their state.
