>>7068 It's an excellent pistol sight but not best for a rifle. FOV is smol, dot too big so it obscures the target at greater distances.
The tritium illuminated Trijicon ACOG costs about 2-4K and its a massive scope with fixed magnification. Probably not what Kashtan wants.
Anyway, as you correctly guessed, Tritium in any form is ILLEGAL in Germany - even for host. But it shouldn't be a problem for Kashtan.
Battery-wise, for a gun safe you can always go Lithium Iron Disulfide. These batteries last 10 years and won't corrode. Well maybe in your salt-mist atmosphere.
But what's the alternative for gun safes? Fiddle with a key or a mechanical combination lock?
We have multiple large gun safes with those batteries and emergency keys. If the batteries are dead it's still possible to get the key from the other safe and unlock it. So far the oldest batteries are 5 years and still work.
For guns batteries are always a problem in emergency situations. Especially optics that drain batteries in a few months when off. I got such a red dot. You gotta store the battery somewhere else and only insert it before going to the range. As host is an idiot he of course went there twice without a battery, making it useless.
But modern optics like Aimpoint or Holosun have good power management, and LED illuminated, they often last for years.
