How can people that are genuinely smart, articulate etc. look at this diagram and think: "yeah, this grand design will not only work in general for every single industry that has ever or will ever exist-but will work far better than any other conceivable option to the point I will violently reject anything short of total compliance with it"?

Kind of an epiphany I had: I learned that the AFL-CIO (biggest labor union in the us afaik), despite being at close to a 100 year low in members, still rakes in close to $200,000,000 a year (https://www.unionfacts.com/union/AFL-CIO#spending-tab) from dues, with its executives making several hundreds of dollars a year(https://www.nationalreview.com/the-campaign-spot/americas-richest-2-percent-union-presidents-jim-geraghty/). I knew it'd be a substantial amount of money but I grossly underestimated it and now I'm curious.

My question is, if the AFL-CIO and other labor representatives simultaneously have this much money, influence and really care for the working class why did they never (as far as I know) create competing, "domestic labor-friendly" companies and products as a hedge against those many companies that took much of their capital to China, Vietnam and Mexico specifically in the late 80s and early 90s at the height of these unions' power? Even as diminished as it supposedly is today, many people have been able to create successful businesses without 1/100th the capital that the AFL-CIO takes in today.

There really isn't a good explanation for this that I can think of that's ethically consistent with how unions portray themselves. With the amount of money they must have been taking in at that point there's no doubt they'd have been able to hire outside experts to help create any kind of business or manufacture any kind of product you can think of but maybe one of you fellas has an explanation.

A Montana Man Fractured a Kid’s Skull for “Disrespecting” the National Anthem

A 13-year-old boy was attending a Montana county fair and rodeo on Saturday when he failed to remove his hat during the national anthem. Moments later, a man slammed him to the ground and fractured his skull. The boy began seizing.

The man, 39-year-old Curt James Brockway, had allegedly attacked the boy for his “disrespect,” a witness told the Missoulian. Brockway was soon arrested and charged with assault on a minor for the attack at the Mineral County Fair and Rodeo.

"He was bleeding out of his ears, seizing on the ground, just not coherent,” Taylor Hennick, a rodeo attendee, told the Missolian. As people started to surround Brockway, the man defended himself by saying the boy “was disrespecting the national anthem, so he had every right to do that,” Hennick added.
