I use a modified Zorn palette:

Ivory Black
Titanium White
Yellow Ochre
Cadmium Red / Crimson (or Alizarin Crimson) / Vermilion

and cobalt or ultramarine blue, sometimes magenta, burnt sienna, burnt umber, and cadmium yellow.
