UK snow forecast: Britain faces ICE fog and snow TODAY – 89 flood warnings issued
https://www.express.co.uk/news/weather/1205269/uk-weather-forecast-snow-news-weather-latest-rain-met-office-flood-warnings
FREEZING fog is set to descend upon parts of the UK as sub-zero temperatures and more rain arrives for another weekend washout.
>There are currently 89 flood warnings in place around most of England and parts of Wales. The Met Office has said heavy showers will lash the far west of Wales and Cornwall today. Many other regions cloudier with some rain at times, especially northeast England.
>But most of southern UK and Scotland will be dry with sunny spells.
>Netweather forecaster Jo Farrow said: “The frontal band continues to bring rain across parts of England and Wales.
>“This brings the risk of flooding but also with the cold night air the chance of more hill snow, even again a little snow to lower levels this evening in the same warned areas.

Welsh Separatist Leader: Wales Should Be Turned Into ‘Nation of Sanctuary’ for Refugees
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/11/16/welsh-separatist-leader-wales-turned-into-nation-of-sanctuary-refugees/
Liz Saville Roberts, who leads the Welsh separatist party Plaid Cymru in Britain’s House of Commons, has called for her small country to become a “nation of sanctuary” for the world’s refugees.
>“We live on an island of Britain,” the London-born ex-teacher told a BBC Question Time audience.
>“In terms of managing immigration this is way easier than for many other nations,” she added — although despite the seeming logic of this statement the United Kingdom does in fact have the joint-highest illegal alien population in all of Europe.
>“[Immigration] has become desperately political. Now, forgive me, now, to be referring to Wales again, but this is equally true for other areas in the United Kingdom… 96 per cent of people in Wales were born in the United Kingdom, and yet we hear this same argument there, but we’re dependent so much on people to come in for clinical staff, for food processing, for catering — we’re going to be in trouble if we don’t have these people still coming in,” she claimed, appearing to suggest in the same breath that immigration to Wales is both too limited to be of any concern, and also absolutely vital to the health service and for a steady supply of cheap waiters and factory workers.

Boris Declares He Is ‘Pro-Immigration’, Will Not Commit to Capping It
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/11/15/boris-declares-pro-immigration-will-not-commit-capping-it/
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has once again promoted himself as a “pro-immigration politician” and refused to commit to reducing it below its current near-record highs.
>“I’m a pro-immigration politician,” the Tory leader declared on the BBC on Friday morning, shaking two clenched fists and adding: “I think immigration can be a wonderful thing.”
>Johnson did concede that the current rates “have been very high”, and suggested his administration would be able to “take back control of our borders” in January, at least with respect to Free Movement from the European Union, when he “gets Brexit done” — although if his proposed withdrawal treaty with the EU passes this will be impossible, as it involves signing Britain up to continued Free Movement until at least the end of the so-called “transition” period which it entails.
>He claimed that once Britain does have full “democratic control” over its borders, “when it comes to unskilled immigration for people who don’t have a job to come to, we will get the numbers down”.

VP Pence Tells Truculent Ireland to Cooperate With Britain on Brexit
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/03/vp-pence-tells-truculent-ireland-to-cooperate-with-britain-on-brexit/
Vice President Mike Pence and the Irish Prime Minister met Tuesday, with the U.S. leader calling on Ireland to be more cooperative with Britain on Brexit and urging the nation to adopt a position of “good faith”.
>The Irish Republic, the only EU member state to share a land border with the United Kingdom has been elevated to a position disproportionate importance, Brexiteers say, by the European Union in the course of Brexit negotiations. Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, the leader of a small nation of less than five million souls has also enjoyed a period of unusual prominence and has become a regular fixture at international events as the European Union has treated his attitude towards Brexit as being of great importance.
>Yet the intransigent attitude towards the British government’s attempts to renegotiate a deeply disadvantageous Brexit deal originally agreed to by fallen former Prime Minister Theresa May has been noticed in the United States, as Vice President Mike Pence urged a more cooperative stance from the Atlantic nation.
>Irish publication The Journal reports the VP called on Ireland to negotiate in “good faith” with Britain’s Boris Johnson as the Brexit deadline approached, noting particularly the importance of respecting the Sovereignty of the United Kingdom, and of not disrupting trade.

Brexit: Tory MP defects ahead of crucial no-deal vote
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49570682
Conservative MP Phillip Lee has defected to the Liberal Democrats ahead of a showdown between Boris Johnson and Tory rebels over Brexit.
>Dr Lee, the MP for Bracknell, took his seat on the opposition benches as the PM addressed the Commons.
>His defection means Boris Johnson no longer has a working majority.
>MPs hoping to pass legislation to block no deal have cleared the first hurdle after Speaker John Bercow granted them an emergency debate.

Even as More Migrant Boats Land, 40,000 Un-Deported Failed Asylum Seekers Remain in UK
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/08/27/even-as-more-migrant-boats-land-40000-un-deported-failed-asylum-seekers-remain-in-uk/
The number of failed asylum seekers who should be deported from the United Kingdom has near doubled in five years, and new refugees are arriving into the country every week with 28 individuals known to have landed in Kent overnight.
>There are now 39,932 individuals who are “subject to removal action” — otherwise known as failed asylum seekers who should be deported — in the United Kingdom, a figure which has grown from little over 20,000 in 2014. The large number of individuals remain in the country despite having no right to do so, and the government being theoretically obliged to encourage them to leave, or to deport them.
>The rise in those subject to deportation in the United Kingdom may be down in part to the fact that fewer individuals are now being deported. British newspaper The Times reports deportations have fallen 42 per cent in the past four years, with a 27 per cent drop of removals from 4,819 to 3,471 in the past 12 months alone.

Iran oil tanker at centre of diplomatic row with UK 'goes dark' off Syria after being released by Gibraltar
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/09/03/iran-tanker-centre-diplomatic-row-goes-dark-syria-released-gibraltar/
>The tanker at the centre of a diplomatic row between Iran and Britain “went dark” yesterday night off the coast of Syria, where it is suspected she may be delivering a controversial cargo of Iranian crude oil.
>The Adrian Darya 1, formally named Grace 1, would be doing so in breach of an agreement made to secure its release and threatens to become a major political embarrassment for the UK.
>The vessel was detained by British Royal Marine commandos off Gibraltar on July 4 as it was believed to be en route to Syria in violation of European Union sanctions.
