報導稱，林某某供述稱，她欲在家中自殺，但因疼痛決定放棄自殺。她與王某某沒有矛盾，認為其傷害王某某能讓王某某「解脫」，自己也可被判死刑。林某某姐姐稱，林某某患有精神類疾病，從20歲開始就有自殺行為。
