I would say it's the latter.

Either way, suits of armor in general aren't something I would wear in public. Not especially practical, and a little too standoffish.
I wouldn't be against her pulling me inside her when danger strikes, or any other position where I would need protection.
Of course, I never really thought of this, so I don't really have any pictures of haunted/possessed suits of armor.
