New thread, I don't expect it'll get a lot of posts, if we continue to use Burma News, however I wanted to make it because it completes a year of /neko/, this board was made on the 15th of June 2024, so this final thread would serve as an entire year here, which I think is nice.

I don't know how much you guys have liked the new thread every half a month gimmick, but I quite like it, it was chosen very arbitrarily but actually worked pretty well, there's been threads where we locked by hitting post count maximum on the final day, and some others where we got really close, then some threads in the middle with much lower post counts.

I also think organising the threads by dates is nicer for looking back at stuff, makes it easier to find things if you roughly remember the date.

From the usually broken liveposting writing garbled schizoposts, to magrathea using because of a single scat spammer, this slowhole was a pretty good place despite the site issues.

Anyway end isn't that bad for me, it's different but genuinely if they fixed a few things, including that realtime posting gimmick it would not be too bad. Though the captcha/spammer times were definitely rough.
We could do that gimmick of doing half-monthly threads on Burma too, depending on how fast the thread will move I guess.

still find it really cool how military drones nowadays are not remote controlled at all but are attached to 25km long spools of fiber optic wire that they just continuously uncoil as they fly in order to keep them connected to the operator and prevent jamming

I am attempting to force myself back into reading regularly now that BGC is finished for the academic year, gonna knock out 1 book a week minimum. I also played some stellaris earlier today, got back into that recently (the game fucking sucks i hate paradox i hate paradox)
