Grab yourself a Tetris Attack ROM

http://emucation.com/dl-rom-37321-group-15695.htm

and ZSNES v1.36

http://www.zsnes.com/index.php?page=files

Then one of us can either post our IP over the internet for the world to see, or we could use a virtual LAN/VPN.

Hamachi is shit now and I can't even use it anymore. OpenVPN would be nice if I could ever get the damn thing to work. Tunngle works but it's really obnoxious. I've never tried FreeLAN myself.

Oh you know what we could also just use Z-Net I to set up a game.

Then nobody needs to post their IP here.

Wild Guns and BIG APPLE, 3 AM are also acceptable.

[spoiler]Is Z-Net relatively stable? Hamachi has been a shit for as long as I can remember, and Tunngle looks like someone's virus-infested browser from 2005 with all that crap dangling off of it. What a fucking eyesore.[spoiler]

Something tells me the other guy isn't coming back.

Myself I'm open to pretty much anything SNES but the tradeoff is I'll be shit at pretty much everything SNES. Maybe I won't suck at Bomberman so much since I played a fair share of Dynablaster.

I have to change my sleep schedule however so my available times will be something like 20:00 GMT to 1:00 GMT.

Tunngle might look like an ass but you really don't spend much time in it's interface and in combination with zsnes 1.36 it simply works, retard proof. At least two player games worked flawlesly. Haven't tested anything more.

Z-Net I is just a matchmaker with a file transfer protocol that sometimes makes it easy to get someone's ROM quickly. It's the same as typing in someone's IP and clicking connect, only you get a face and a lobby to make it a little friendlier (and without needing to give out your IP on an image board).

Now sometimes VLANs/VPNs can get around a particular game's demand for forwarded ports. I don't think this actually works with ZSNES though if I remember right. Even if you connect over a virtual service you may still both need to have port forwarded in order to connect over UDP.

I remember having a right time of it with Hamachi.

Still would prefer that over Tunngle, so if you fagets throw open a room, I'll probably join.

Maybe you should pick a time then.

All in all I think I'm getting a grasp of what SNES multiplayer has to offer and I'm not pleased. The screen sharing when a screen is soo small and so much shit is happening doesn't really work well so I guess I can play some more Rocky Pocky or Bomberman but other than that I'm pretty much done with SNES for now.

Pic very much related.

There aren't even that many split-screen games on the SNES - what the fuck were you playing?

I'll aim for 23:00-3:00 tomorrow.

Kirby Super Star
Legend of The Mystical Ninja, The
Pocky & Rocky
Pop'n Twinbee
Super Smash T.V.
Total Carnage
Wild Guns

I haven't actually played a game with a split screen.
If there's something I missed that isn't a fighting game/mario/beat'em and it isn't a total clusterfuck on the screen then let me know.

Jesus, anon.

>Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Relatively light-paced overhead shooter filled campy B-movie humor and a wonderful soundtrack. A bit more intricate than Pocky & Rocky, which you seemed to like.

>Sunset Riders
Western-themed Metal Slug, pretty much.

>Contra III
Scratch that, you're a faggot - it'll only scare you with the amount of stuff going on.

>Secret of Mana
Multiplayer action RPG with a combat system good enough to make grinding fun.

You need to add Mystical Ninja 2 to that list, by the way - it's quite a step up from the first SNES game.

>>Zombies Ate My Neighbors
It didn't caught my interested by the way it was described to me but if you say it's good we can try. Just be around on the time you appoint.

>>Sunset Riders
I played some metal slug multiplayer and it bored me. It was a pretty game but not for me. Maybe that one is better.

>Scratch that, you're a faggot - it'll only scare you with the amount of stuff going on.
I played some contra in single player. Difficulty aside the core gameplay didn't make me come back and continue. I doubt multiplayer can make me a contra fan.
That clusterfuck on the screen was mostly for Pop'n Twinbee in which at times I couldn't tell the difference between player sprite, terrain and mob because colour pallete was so faintly diversified.

>>Secret of Mana
I played it in single player and had fun so I wanted to see what multiplayer is like but my partner at the time said that the multi doesn't really work that well but I can't rememember now what was his reasoning for that.

>Mystical Ninja 2
Unless they drastically changed perspective the core issues I had with that one will remain.

OKAY MOTHERFUCKER HOW ABOUT THIS? THESE ALIEN SHITS HAVE KIDNAPPED ALL YOUR NEIGHBORS AND YOU'RE THE ONLY DUDES BAD ENOUGH TO RESCUE THEM. AK-47'S? GRENADES? FUCK OFF - YOU'VE GOT A SUPER SOAKER LOADED WITH HOLY WATER! "BUT ANON", YOU SAY WHILE SHITTING YOURSELF AT THE PROSPECT OF TAKING ON AN ALIEN INVASION WHILE PACKING ONLY A SQUIRT GUN, "WHY DO I NEED HOLY WATER?" BECAUSE THESE ALIENS ARE IN LEAGUE WITH DRACULA HIMSELF! AND HE COMMANDS AND ARMY OF THE LIVING DEAD! ALSO FISHMEN FOR SOME REASON. FHTAGN, MOTHERFUCKER!

>Just be around on the time you appoint.
Fair enough, I dropped the ball last weekend.

>Metal Slug multiplayer bored me
SR is considerably faster-paced than Metal Slug. Not Contra, but still pretty fast. And I think better at pressing home the co-operation aspect in many ways.

>Secret of Mana
Just when I thought your sense of taste was entirely up shit creek, anon. I've never actually played it multi-player over the internets, so it might be a connectivity thing. But let's definitely try and get that one to work, because that game is fucking rad.

>Mystical Ninja's perspective
The overworld, semi-overhead stuff is still finnicky, but the platforming is much tighter and there are less instances of the level design bending you over a sushi conveyor belt.
