It's going to be in beta forever and the rat community will die out in the meantime.

Holy fuck I hate the new website so much.

At least the dead website was still useful as an archive. Now it's good for nothing but crashing your browser.

I really wanted the website renewal to lead to a revival of lesswrong.com as a focal point for the community, and I fully intended to start reading it again and maybe even posting, but sadly my poor macbook+firefox couldn't handle the strain of their galaxy-brained webdesign.

I guess greaterwrong.com actually works though, yay! The revival movement doesn't seem to have much momentum though.

Only problem with Greaterwrong is sometimes you'll click a link that uses lesswrong. Here is a solution to that.

An addon called redirector.

For Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/redirector/

For Chrome:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/redirector/ocgpenflpmgnfapjedencafcfakcekcd

Settings:

Example URL: http://lesswrong.com/some_path
Include pattern: *lesswrong*
Redirect to: $1greaterwrong$2

Result: Example result:
http://greaterwrong.com/some_path

Not perfect (fucks up googling for 'lesswrong'), but you'll never have to go to the shitty new website again.

Without using that addon, I would guess that using ://lesswrong and ://greaterwrong would work.

it replaces the first instance of the string "lesswrong" with "greaterwrong" - "lesswrong lesswrong" -> "greaterwrong lesswrong"

11k commits and 40k lines (JS + JSX + Sass) seems too much for what LW2 does. I acknowledge that part of it must be my arrogance and relative inexperience speaking, but still. Is the JavaScript ecosystem to blame?

Everything about it is shit, the people who wrote it are incompetent.
