Quite seriously, though, in the last 5 or so years I'm more impressed by Yudkowsky not getting swept up in all the dumb political bullshit that consumes everybody else. Scott Alexander used to write about philosophy/game theory/fantasy worldbuilding/…, and now a worryingly large percentage of his blog is political editorials that could have been written by an edgy NYT columnist. Yudkowsky used to write about friendly AI, and he *still* writes about friendly AI. That's a triumph of rationalism right there.
