I basically agree, what I was trying to get at is if you indulge too much in anime and the culture surrounding it you're life will be made worse. True of anything, but just especially easy to do with anime and otaku culture. It's not really a healthy community, especially online, and there's a reason this kind of community formed around anime. This is all different than anime being inherently a waste of time.
