Thanks for reporting this issue. The code that interprets posts and applies colors should be disabled inside CODE tags, because sometimes the source code gets interpreted as markup for changing colors like in >>>/cumg/15 .

>>11580

I'm a bit confused on what you're trying to infer.

Is this a fix you are suggesting? Or are you simply stating that it is currently a bug and you guys need to fix it?
If it is a solution, please provide an example as I don't entirely understand.

I notice that has no closing code tag, is that intentional?

>>11582

Use the reload button at the form on the top of the page. Yeah it's kinda defeats the purpose of the Quick Reply window... but only when captcha is enabled for every posts. Normally it isn't. If you are a BO, enable when necessary (and the lack of reload feature might just annoy those who made you enable the captcha).

I think Kuroba support was asked earlier, then we are in the process of considering it. It isn't a priority, other projects go first.
These phone-posters, srsly...

This is relatively fresh.

The .net and .gg domains aren't working at all. Every time I input any of them, it takes me to the .org domain. Pls fix

It says the file size limit is 350 MB but I get entity too large error on a 140 MB file.

>>18284
Due to the relentless dickspam we had to redirect the traffic of .net .gg to .org, which is behind CloudFlare which helps mitigating it.
We are trying to find a solution, and return back to the original setup.

>>18285
Disable JS.

>>18286
I disabled JS, that's how I know that it is "413 Request Entity Too Large" and not some bullshit meaningless "Connection failed." message.

>>18287
Cloudflare has 100MB limit, so if you're uploading more than that, You'd have to use tor.

>>18286
>>18286
>Due to the relentless dickspam we had to redirect the traffic of .net .gg to .org

I'm pretty sure it's just the same guy who spammed /pol/ for a while. And the guy who almost killed sportschan. You may want to talk to each of the board's owners to know what you're dealing with here/

And yeah that guy's crazy. Don't try to reason as to why he keeps doing the same thing over and over again. For half a decade at this point I think

Another question about file sizes. I want to publish an archive of messages from another image board. It contains sqlite3 database files with text, and, according to my estimate, it will be about 600 MB. Can I attach this to a message for easy access, or is it better to upload to a file sharing hosting to respect Endchan's hard drives?

why no https redirect?

>>18334
better for older browser support. Some people can't update their browser or their root SSL certififate.

I need to add a board volunteer, but there's always a chance they will delete everything while I'm sleeping or something. Do you guys keep backups? Would it be possible to rollback an entire board?

Admin, >>18358

>>18358
No. If something gets deleted, it's deleted.
Getting a vol is always a risk, I suggest be transparent with the users, tell them, another mod joins your team, and everyone should make sure they have everything saved they want to have. Give them a couple of days maybe.
You could archive some threads beforehand, try these:
https://web.archive.org/save
https://archive.ph/

>>18362
Thanks.

How to lock thread for bumping, but not for posting?
How to autosage thread?

>>18364
Here's what those options do:
Lock: prevents posting in the thread.
Pin: sticky, pin the thread to the top, so no matter which thread gets bumped it will stay on top of the first page
Cyclic: never tested this, so not entirely sure, something liek keep the thread forever going, it never reaches bump limit, it gets pruned from the beginning (perhaps)
When a thread reaches bump limit, which is 500 posts, it gets autosaged, new posts won't bump the thread. This can be customized by the BO by setting Reply Limit, description says:
>autosage after this number, lock thread after twice this number
That's it.

>>18365
>Lock,Pin,Cyclic
I know this options very well.
>That's it.
It is autosage by reply limit, nothing surprising. But i need moderation installable "autosage" option for threads.
I want to use it for bad threads which i won't delete.
Maybe we can recieve this option in the future?

>>18366
I see.
We'll see.

Any chance there will be an option NOT TO strip metadata from an image?

>>11577
I suggest adding the board option to generate user IDs for tor posters the same way it is done for clearnet users.
Right now /polru/ suffers from an influx of government-hired shitposters and the moderation is overwhelmed (appointing new moderators is a trust problem here).
So this functionality would allow users to hide tor shitposts (or it would force shitposters to spend their time changing circuits and filling captchas all the time, good for me).

Normally I'd opt for more persistent solution for user IDs, not reliant on ip address. But with tor browser no cookies policy and it actively resisting js fingerprinting I'm not even sure what could work apart from dumb shit like proof of work auth that no one would want.

Never mind, took too long.

>>18374
Stable Diffusion threads for example. The generated pictures store generation info (prompt, seed, model, etc.) into the metadata. This metadata of course gets stripped when the picture is uploaded to Endchan, so if another anon wants to check out the prompt he has to ask the poster to upload his picture to some file host. That is rather tedious.

Hello.
Why i don't have Name field in posting form on /ca/ board?
Only: Email, Subject, Comment, Password, Drawing, File(s).

How to use role signature without Name?

>>18385
BO's can disable it.

>>18385
If you can use role signature, you must be the BO. You can enable the Name field then.
Btw when you log in, there is a checkbox in the account which says:
>Always use role signature
You could temporarily enable that to make a post in your role.

When creating a thread, if I solve captcha and press enter in input form there is an error "No image attached" or something like that even though I attach them. But if I use the "New topic" button, the thread will be created as intended.

> Suggestion
Post count in thread.
It is annoying to look a post count in catalog or on the board page.

I'm sorry if I didn't explain clearly. My english is lame.

>>18384
Ah ok, I'll look into allowing this somehow...

Can you guys add ability for board owners to bump-lock/put threads into autosage (like the anchor that 8chan used to have)

also the ability for board owners to view post history by ip hash would be helpful

All the non-OP images are missing from these threads:
>>>/turul/3162
>>>/turul/4451
>>>/turul/2432

The catalog still says stuff like "R: 94 / I: 112" but they do not appear in the thread. Please fix.

>>18422
Yeah. Still assessing the situation. Many images were lost on some boards. I fear there is no way back. We'll see.

Is there a way to sort pinned threads and keep the one with the board rules always on top even if another pinned thread receives new posts?

>>18441
I'm not aware.
You could try adding the rules into the board message. Can format it with custom CSS.

>>18441
Another thing. On the top of the page just below the posting form there is that...
>Remember to follow the rules
...line
That contains board rules you set in board management under...
>Manage rules
...option.
You can keep board rules there and make that line more apparent with CSS.
We're gonna try to make it more obvious for users by default so maybe no custom CSS will be needed.

Posts on a hidden board do not show up on the Latest Posts list on the front page but images do. Is this intended?

>>18444
Yes.

Can I report CP spam without JavaScript without having to open the thread first?

>>18488
You just did! Thanks for the report.
Also you can hop on to IRC and report there (or Discord and Telegram). Link is on the navbar at the top.

>>18489
Without JavaScript, yes, but without opening the thread, no. On overboard or catalog page there is no report form and even if there was, as there is on individual boards, is it possible to identify which post or thread to report? It could be legally problematic if you knowingly open a thread containing CP, even if you do it for reporting.

>>18521

Hello from chipmunks from /polru!
Can you add some features against pro-putin spammers?

1.Tor and lokinet users id derived from session to see different users, because all tor and lokinet users looks same and spammers using it.

2.Proof of work captcha and detect or something to use real browser to avoid batch spamming with curl and bots.

3.More limits and more replacements in admin panel to fulfill needs of this battle against pro-putin spammers.

>>18523
>>18524
4.Spam filter which reacts on keywords and combinations and mark blockBypass as outdated and all messages removed.
Like 2 messages with pro putin websites or combination of hate speech = blockBypass banned and messages is deleted.

Or better: replace to something like glory to ukraine and putin suck cocks.

We need some kind of defense against this cancer.

>>18523
>>18525
I see lots of deletions in the logs on /polru/, and I mean a LOT. We can't do much about trolls. I understand that the userbase do not like to read specific opinions, but accepting the existence of some could cut back on the need of moderation work.
Partially we can't do much because of technical constraints of the imageboard's engine. Here I have to ask how would you guys implement the suggested features? The source code of InfinityNow is available, check bottom of the home page.
In other part it's an arms race, trolls adapt to new tools, and will continue on, which leads to placing in more restrictions, which will be again and again avoided. So all the work is pointless.
Imageboards weren't designed to be restrictive anyway.

>Or better: replace to something like glory to ukraine and putin suck cocks.
There is a wordfilter feature that changes the text.
I would also suggest to create your own tools. If you want to automate detection of unwanted posts it can be done in different ways, liek Greasemonkey, python, or even bash scripts. Deletion can be automated too, problem is with false positives (like someone quotes an unwanted post). Liek a Greasemonkey scipt that runs when you open a thread and click a custom button added and do whatever it does could be a hueg moderation help. But be careful with automation please so you won't DoS our site with flood of billion requests per second accidentally or some such.

I want to have an ability to go from the middle of the thread to the board, meaning from https://endchan.org/polru/res/210357.html to https://endchan.org/polru/
Right now it's impossible because there isn't a single link that goes there and I have to manually edit URL or scroll up or down.
Why doesn't the header contain the link to go up to the board?

>>18526
It's, actually, not a opposite opinion, but a few monkeys from 50 cent army who just manually wiping.
In any case, thanks a lot for adding features and fixing the problems. It's glad to see that's legacy version is not abandoned.
So, if I get it right. If we find someone who shall implement our suggestions you could add it, am I right?
Ah, and about wordfilter. Is there a possibility to add a regexp for it?

>>18529

>>18529
You can make PRs/MRs to the repo. InfinityNow is open source. However before we'll accept the change the changes needs not affect most of the other boards behavior. For example make sure certain behavior changes are board settings, so BOs can choose.

I'm looking into RegExs for filters.

>>18526
Just to clarify, these aren't mere trolls. These are people employed by the Russian government, their task being to disrupt opposition resources on the internet by spamming and to spread official propaganda. The spam consists mainly of articles copied from Russian state media channels and gloating over Ukrainian deaths, although sometimes they post gore or porn. They primarily use darknet or large pools of proxies or dynamic IPs, specifically to avoid being banned. They can produce a few hundred posts of spam during the span of one shift.
We do not ban people for expressing different opinions, and we do not take sides in arguments between groups of posters with opposing views. There have been a few short 2-day bans for persistent shitposting and threatening other posters, but generally there are no rules besides global rules.

>>18526
>accepting the existence
It's just ruins normal conversation, it's designed to do it.
This opinions lacks real meaning.
It's like a virus, you will react to it, answer and spread it, and real messages will be faded by massive lie shitposting.

Because this shit ruins lives and societies.

>>18533
>I'm looking into RegExs for filters.
This will help against a lot of spam.
This should be very long limits for strings and some special stuff like changing messages, removing it, bans, mark similar posts by rule like site or keywords (like sites) to group it by same poster and to clean.

I think, dollchan users with js skills can help.

Is it possible to load ban messages (those displayed under the post) on thread auto-refreshing? As of now, you have to fully refresh (F5) the thread to see who's been banned

>>18528

Well when E R was working on .org it would only show others typing sometimes, so it looked like a bug, plus it created issues where people would use it for the wrong reasons, copying posts, etc.

Endchan is an imageboard, imageboard content is ephemeral.
Couple of online services are available to archive threads:
https://web.archive.org/save
https://archive.ph/
You can also try simply saving pages File/Save Page As.. and keep an archive on your computer. It can be uploaded to online storage. Or even a VPS can be rented and the files uploaded where one could browse them inactively.

>>18780
We have put a fix in for that. If you're still having problems let us know which Browser and version you're using.

Endchan doesn't offer a "strip filenames" option for file uploads, unlike some other chans which rename the file to its hash. Such functionality could be nice on Endchan, too. If Endchan doesn't support it, it could be possible to predict the filename without uploading it to Endchan. Looks like the filenames are generated with base64 and md5 from the file data:
https://gitgud.io/InfinityNow/LynxChan/-/blob/master/src/be/engine/apiOps.js?ref_type=heads#L160

    var toPush = {

      title : file.name,

      md5 : crypto.createHash('md5').update(content, 'base64').digest('hex'),

      size : stats.size,

      mime : mime,

      spoiler : file.spoiler,

      pathInDisk : location

    };

>>18792
It's just the md5 of the binary file data plus a suffix which depends on the file type. A file with the content "nigger" became c35312fb3a7e05b7a44db2326bd29040-applicationoctet-stream.so

$ echo -n nigger | md5sum

c35312fb3a7e05b7a44db2326bd29040 -

BTW, md5 is insecure.

>>11577
What does 'wide range ban' & 'narrow range ban' mean?

bamp

The "Enable realtime" feature works very inconsistently, basically it only works well when only one person is typing. If there's another person typing at the same time, a third party will pretty much always see garbage in there, basically letters of two posts interleaved into one. I think it even happens sometimes when only one person is typing and the connection is spotty.
It also has trouble with removing the posts after they get posted, this can also add to the confusion with the bugged posts because they can get even more mangled. That thankfully gets resolved if you reset your connection to the feature.
Here's a quick mockup, top left and top right are the pov of the 2 users typing, bottom is what the 3rd user sees. It gets way more unreadable when there's typing going on on 2 ends of course but this demonstrates the situation well enough.

>>20048
I think we missed your post due to the flood.
Those options control how "wide" of a subnet gets banned. Narrow is /24, wide is /16.
Let's say the IP is 12.24.232.198
Then the narrow range is: 12.24.232.0
The wide: 12.24.0.0
Here's wikipee article about the topic:

>>29156
Thanks, I'll pass it on.

It seems to me the "Scrub media (remove image from site)" option when deleting posts is no longer working correctly. When I delete posts with this option checked the files are no longer removed from the server as they were before and still remain accessible with the direct link to the image. This is a problem.

>>29192
I'm not aware that BOs/BVs could scrub. I thought scrubbing is a global option (since it could effect more than one board.)
Board staff can use the remove media, to remove just the media from the post. This doesn't delete it from the db ofc.

>>29193
I'm pretty sure it used to work even as BO/BV. Because before when I deleted posts with that option checked, the image could no longer be accessed even if someone had the direct link.

>>29194
Maybe we just scrubbed those. We do vet orphans and there's automatic deletion too. Also if it's a cp spam, that posted across the boards, it could happen that you delete on your board, and right after we delete (we always use scrub in those cases) then it could seem you scrubbed.
