I have no future just applying for jobs. Think I've sent about 780 IT applications and only one landed me a dev job years ago.

I'll learn any old or obscure language if it just means it gets me work. Worth still learning COBOL? The other part of me wants to become a hacker because I'm tired and angry.

Nope. AI is going to take away all the tech jobs soon and it's already just beginning to happen. Why learn to code when AI will eventually do it for free and much better than any human?

You want real job security? The trade. Data centers are paying big bucks to electricians, construction crews and even plumbers because those data centers need lots of flowing cold water to cool the centers down. Many data centers are paying up to six figures. Texas is home to them so you might have to move to Texas. Otherwise, the trade is still in high demand. I need a new chimney cap because my old one rusted for example... I'll be paying for the new chimney cap plus another $300 for the service of installing it. That's one trade job, takes about an hour maybe two hours tops, $300 for that one job. Learn the trade, older people need help all the time with stuff like that.

I am still interested in electricity and I wish I finished that vocational school 19 years ago. Texas would be cool (literally) but I'm a Europoor
