Good news is tis but a scratch, the inner tube is pinched but it is not again a sidewall hole which will just let derbis in and I need to buy a new tire again.
No bad news really, besides the walk of shame. Deliberately went through the woods instead of the bikepath but once I needed to go along the bikepath only a pleasant boomer asked if I needed help, the rest just went by.

Warmup counts for like 20k points, the giro could have been jonas'd 20 stages in a row and it would still be more fair to count

You don't, simple.
I have booked Christmas and two days in November already, still have 10 to use but my job is too easy to really need time off. Plus I have the bongs' 4 or 5 extra days off as well.

Every FUCKING time I just randomly (so like twice a year, it has been already twice now since that Crux) I open some used bike search I get a GREAT bike right in the sweetspot of wanting me to splurge my saving but also be an adult who doesn't need a new bike.
And it is in my town. The only consideration is M frame size, it is not that smaller than an L SL4 Roubaix frame which feels slightly big for me. But it is in my town. I can go check it out.

What do we think. Psyoping me into it or not.

For the use case, truly off road, Polish "gravel", while going fast, being comfy and having fun - akshually yes, full sus is the one.
Gravel will just not work on enough of trails and paths here to be warranted, I already have my shopping cart hardtail but once you get on the forst and field paths you wish you had your back wheel damping all the bumps and rocks as well.
Do I need an S-Works? Fuck no. But it is a similar case like with the S-Works Roubaix I have bought while hunting for a plain Spec 105 - just not enough bikes in excellent shape I could believe in. And black.

Last spam before I doze off, my current mtb vs that FUCKING Epic.

Stack: Rockhopper L 626mm vs. Epic M 591mm → Rockhopper is noticeably taller (more upright riding position).
Reach: Rockhopper L 445mm vs. Epic M 445mm → Identical.
Stack/Reach Ratio (approximate fit feel): Rockhopper ~1.41 vs. Epic ~1.33 → Epic feels more stretched/aggressive for the same reach.
Wheelbase: Rockhopper L ~1152mm vs. Epic M 1148mm → Very similar overall length.
Front Center: Rockhopper L 719mm vs. Epic M 719mm → Nearly identical.
Head Tube Length: Rockhopper L 105mm vs. Epic M 100mm → Similar.
Seat Tube Length (C-T): Rockhopper L 450mm vs. Epic M 430mm → Rockhopper has a longer seat tube.
Fork Offset/Rake: Rockhopper 46mm vs. Epic 44mm → Minor difference.
Trail: Rockhopper 97mm vs. Epic 106mm → Epic has more trail (more stability at speed).

Es la hora.

In 2023, british menace Archie CROSS and local hero ROUGIER-LAGANE were beating of on the mythical slopes of Gran Bassin only to get humbled by Natnael BERHANE at the meta.
At the same time, James JOBBER being dropped out of the gruppo principal and another menace STEDMAN, then in maillot jaune, haplessly lachee'd.
Now those were the times.

Then in 2024 came the super doped team of Felt Felbermayr (ZOIDL's galacticos) with Piotr BROZYNA and Felix RITZINGER making everyone feeling a little stupid, putting 2 minutes solo back-to-back on the hopeless pedalton. BROZYNA was so sulphurous he was forced to retire at the ripe age of 31 (late twenties).

The shame was so big the 2025 edition was cancelled altogether.

RITZINGER apparently was also shadow banned and force to retire at the ripe age of 29 (mid twenties).
But how does ZOIDL continue to get away with it?

EISENBARTH, 3rd GC, also retired

Yeah I think that's quite short inseam for your length, mine is 90-91cm for 190cm and I think my proportions are pretty average (my brother, same height as I am, has an inseam of 95cm and a noticeably longer wingspan).

You don't need any machine to degrease the chain and pulley wheels. Buy 1l of mineral spirits and 1l of denatured alcohol from your local hardware store for 4€. Soak the chain in the spirits in a jar, shake it aggressively for 1min, then drain the spirits and repeat 2-3 times until it's all clean. Then soak in the alcohol and voila, clean as can be. Then you can re-wax.

Nope, I don't even have a TT bike ATM. The guy who's won the last couple TT nats is very aero but not ridiculously so, has an FTP of around 370-380 and is quite comparable in weight, so I guess I just need to be aero as fuck and maybe get 10-20W more and I can be competitive in the upcoming years. Hard but not impossible, whereas getting a road national title would be close to impossible with actual conti riders like Axel Källberg, Jaakko Hänninen and Miko Pirinen.

make sure to visit Ascona while you're there and by car you can go to the Verzasca dam that was used for the first scene in James Bond Goldeneye. weather isn't so good today, in valle maggia you could observe people jumping from bridges into the river.

Most of the Tour team besides the superdomestiques are probably with Pogi in Suisse. That's most of UAE's strongest rouleurs who didn't go to the Giro.

Oliveira, Vermaerke and Sivaque are still good options. If they lose too much time in the TTT it will be due to setup, not team strength imo.

Also, probably good that there isn't the usual 3rd or 4th UAE looking for their own result. All loyal boys. Almeida and Del Toro (not even sure if the former will be in shape to ride for himself) are probably glad none of the rats made it in.

Two Almeida interviews published yesterday. 2nd one is paywalled.

Basically he says that after Catalunya he did a bunch of testing and the numbers were all fucked. Apparently they never found a cause, but he's fine and has been training for 3-4 weeks. He says his main Dauphiné goal is being a hjaelper and that he doesn't think he'll be in good condition to go to the Tour. His schedule for the rest of the season is still San Sebastián, Burgos, Vuelta and WC.

So yeah, my dear goomblers, pick at your own risk. Personally, I might still pick him because you should always pick your boys.

I had a look at their website earlier today, theh are selling off some old Endurace Carbon frames for rim brakes. I assume it's around 600 Euros, as I get shown the cheaper Suisse price with lower VAT.

clear no
if you look at it logically it's the slowest possible road bike frameset (super heavy, least possible aero, flexes a lot) you can buy and steel is really fragile, even light crashes can dent it. So you spend a huge amount of money for a product that is inferior in every regard but looks and potentially short lived.
I can see titanium frames because you can do some more than just round tubing and custom geometry outweighs everything else

imo if anything changing industry standards are what kills frames not material failure. You can probably ride any frame for 20++ years and put 200k km on it zonder chute catastrophe but what ends up killing it is new hub/bb/brake/wheel/anything standards that have long since pushed the old stuff out while the new stuff won't fit your old frame
