I'm looking for a car but I don't know much about them. I am thinking of a car like a Fiat 500 or a VolksWagon Beetle. What other cars are there like this, cars that are small so they are easy to park and don't use much fuel but that also look interesting and nice.

Since we need a new one anyway, the previous is autosäging, and the casual talk thread is still 404.

They do. This is why they are good:
1. they are relatively cheaper;
2. they break down relatively less frequently;
3. the replacement parts are relatively cheaper;
4. the repair cost is relatively cheaper.
I think their fuel consumption is also ok. All in all you can get a relatively more reliable car with relatively lower cost. Relatively.

>>41586
>Jeeps too
Then buy a Suzuki Samurai.

>I'm looking for a car but I don't know much about them.

Then buy cheap one, especially if you aren't good driver.

Also try to find less "modern" thing, because they aren't good in terms of maintenance. Even if service is free (guarantee etc), it isn't fun to do all these tedious things like driving car to service, waiting, getting it again etc. For example, modern small engines with small volume (1 - 1.2l) and multiple turbines have multiple points of failure. Compared to them, classic atmospheric engines often much more reliable and simple. They had worse fuel economy though, but not that much, if we don't talk about sportcars.

>cars that are small so they are easy to park

Australia has problems with parking space? Really?

From my experience, biggest problem isn't the size of the car (you can park almost everything without problems after month of driving), but size and availability of parking spaces. I live in place where parking is a _big_ problem, and even here it is possible to park medium-sized car. And, if there is no free parking slot, even small car can't be parked anyway.

I only recommend to get a car with rear parktronic. Any parktronic, even that device that just beeps when obstacle is close, without cameras and shit. It really helps.

>also look interesting and nice.

Suzuki Jimny is a good, fun and interesting car. It is also small and relatively cheap.

Do you want new car or old? It always about money anyway.

>>41524
>those jap cars dont break down they say

Jap propaganda. Old japanese cars were good, nowadays it is varying from model to model. German cars also have reputation of reliable vehicles, but this isn't true too. All cars are shit

Bernd 12/14/2020 (Mon) 11:18:01 [Preview] No.41589 del
I recommend a T-34.
Pros:
- low maintenance cost, can be fixed by banging it with a hammer
- if it runs out of fuel you can ask boongs laying about to piss in it, that will enough to reach next gas station
- don't need to know rules of the road, everyone will conform to you
- you can make your parking space on a whim
- aesthetic
- emu proof
Cons:
- in the summer it can be hot, maybe fixable with an AC unit
- in winter can be cold, maybe fixable with installing a stove
- fuel consumption (can be mitigated with the boong trick)
- a little bit heavy

Not a tank, but there are plenty of civilian armored machines. They take old BRDM or BTR, do some adaptation (additional windows, new seats) and sell them. Technically, all these APCs are just common trucks.

There is also plenty of authentic civilian vehicles based on army APCs, mostly for oil workers at north. Most of them based on MT-LB

Just had an interview with a Chinese company. Didn't like it. First, the guy never even said I was interviewing with him. He told me that just wanted to chat and invited me over to his seekrit clubhouse app. Second, I could not understand anything he said, and the people he worked with were literally the back office from him staring and being half naked for some reason. Third, even when I answered a few interview questions from him, that I could understand at least, he kept prodding and picking at me for not know every single thing he asked me earlier on.

He gave some really rude and too personal responses afterwards, so I just decided to end it right there and told him I would like to withdraw my interview or whatever it was. Afterwards, I got booted from his chat a few seconds afterwards. Overall, very unprofessional and did not like a thing about it. Maybe serves as a learning experience, but I don't know.

We need to make a Bernd company somehow. I can imagine it like short term freelance job center, connecting people who needs stuff to be done and those who are willing to do. Ofc, these would be online jobs, I guess minor coding, webdev things, or I dunno some more practical, liek "I don't want to do - or have no time to do - X thing, but I'm willing to give a little money for that". I think micro-work or how does it called.
I dunno how to keep it anonymous, while ensuring the "freelancers" do reliable job, and ofc the legality and not necessarily just from angle of taxation. Let's say these are the main challenges.
And this initiative needs a website where the communication is done, even tho a domain and a vps does not cost too much, still have to be financed.

I'm a very good driver, I've never even crashed and only got caught for speeding once and even then I was let off because the policeman was from my soccer team.

Mum's Mazda 2 has lasted forever and it's new but I can see where you are coming from, some do seem to have issues.

>Australia has problems with parking space? Really?

Yes and no, most of Australia is suburban, it's really only an issue in the CBD but even then parks are next to non existent so you pretty much have to pay for a park or park outside the CBD and walk. But regardless it's easier to park small cars particularly if they have small front parts.

Yes, that is the kind of var I was looking for, in some ways it is probably better than a Suzuki swift because it looks more utilitarian and kind of like a Jeep.

>>41589
I don't think they sell them here and if they did they would cost more than my budget of $3000. As an aside I have thought about getting a universal carrier, they are reasonably common(they were actually the most mass produced tracked military vehicle of WW2) and they are small and probably easier to maintain. Australia used and I think produced them as well so they are here.

You should be careful about that, we still don't fully know how it actually works or what long term affects it has. It hass been seen that the virus can work it's way to the brain and that this may be contributing or causing symptoms but also in some cases problems have continued well after the virus has left the system.

If you don't agree with app at all, you will be fined and hospitalized - at least official site says so.

https://www.mos.ru/city/projects/monitoring/

Google translate:

>Patients with confirmed coronavirus infection undergoing treatment at home, citizens with symptoms of coronavirus infection, and people living with the sick should use the Social Monitoring service. If you have signed the Consent to receive home health care or the Sanitary Doctor's Order, refusing to use the service will be an administrative offense, which will result in a fine and hospitalization in a medical facility. We ask you to show social responsibility: download the application and start using it.

Technically, all these things don't really conform local laws (you can't be easily fined without evidence etc), but who cares. Some people tried to sue Moscow government, but process is slow and looks like it is going to fail.

It is only Moscow though, other parts of Russia have no such shit.

>>41799

As far as I know, it is mostly typical common cold except one thing - after death of virus it's debris may provoke heavy inflammation in lungs because some proteins looks like something different etc (my medical knowledge ends here). So, even when body beats virus (as any common cold), you can have pretty dangerous pneumonia, and all these long-standing adverse effects are mostly same as for typical pneumonia. And pneumonia isn't a joke, it may deal damage for life. There also some coagulation problems that may end with stroke or similar thing. So, it is like relatively normal cold but with chance to get heavy problems after first stage. That viral pneumonia also isn't fatal too, but may be, especially if there are other health problems, or person just unlucky.

But chances of having these complications aren't that big, and I hope that it isn't my case. Only time will tell.

Got a antibody test yesterday - yes, that was coronavirus. Test says that "first" antibodies (igM) are still here, but "late" antibodies (igM) already started to appear. So, it is the end of disease or the late stage.

Overall, symptoms ended near week ago, and sense of smell is working again. Now I still unsure if I need to do another test (PCR) that detects ability to spread the virus. Or just wait some time and forget about it.

How they took your sample? Blood or mucus from nose/throat?

Had to make Lyme test last year, they also looked for igG and igM.
Are immunoglobulins "one fits them all" type of reaction?
Let's say "pathogen A" comes, the body starts to produce igG as a reaction. On another occasion "pathogen B" comes, the body starts to produce igG as a reaction. Is the two igGs are different somehow, or are the same?
So let's say they test me for "pathogen A" - which I don't have but I have "pathogen B". My body produced igG so those I have. The test shows I have igG and they declare "pathogen A" infected me - just because they did the test on the basis that they were looking for "pathogen A"?
How does this work I wonder?
An acquaintance was ill last year, very ill, some upper respiratory disease, had severe immunreaction to that, they got scared it's maybe covid, they called ambulance. The ambulance did the test and found no covid present. So they have a way to differentiate, but I'm not sure they did the same test what they do in labs - in fact if they could do such test in 10 mins were there a need to visit labs at all (like I had to with Lyme)?
I also know tests are unreliable, some or better but still every has inaccuracies.

Maybe, but does it change anything?

>>42005

>How they took your sample? Blood or mucus from nose/throat?

That was blood test. Another type of test - PCR - is taken from throat, and detects virus in respiratory tract. It shows if you are contagious, but, as far as I know, has very large error rate. I decided to do only blood test, because it is too late for PCR for me (just my opinion). Even that antibody test may be flawed. Or they could just replace my blood sample with other in accident, or something like this - and you can't check it. Maybe doing multiple tests in different labs is a way, but I personally don't really care: I've had the symptoms, they are gone, whatever.

>Are immunoglobulins "one fits them all" type of reaction?

I don't know much about biology, but looks like igM is common, or at least very similar for many diseases, and igG is specific to single virus. So, igG is produced after some time, and igM are first ones, but less specific. Having only igM is not enough to detect anything except "looks like you are ill". Having igG says that you had that virus in past. Or it is error in testing, I guess some tests may mismatch antibodies, depending on disease and type of antibody.

>An acquaintance was ill last year, very ill, some upper respiratory disease, had severe immunreaction to that, they got scared it's maybe covid, they called ambulance. The ambulance did the test and found no covid present.

Quick test (from throat I suppose) detects covid by some third factor, and there are plenty of errors. It also may not detect infection, even if it exists, because it stops to be located in respiratory tract and goes lower (lungs etc). Infection also may be suppressed by antibodies and test may fail because there are too small amount of virus etc.

Doctors need to differentiate by multiple tests, and also by symptomatic. But in most cases, especially before covid, they just see respiratory symptom and say "it's flu or common cold", because testing is relatively long task. Now with coronavirus they often just say "oh, it's covid", even without tests. Considering that treatment for most cases is the same (i.e. do nothing, sit and wait until you are ok or you need to hospitalize), there is a reason why they do this.

Yeah, one is produced as a sudden reaction, spike quick, then quickly dies down, meanwhile the other gets slowly produced, replacing the first one, and goes on for a longer period of time.
>Even that antibody test may be flawed.
Here media says the throat/nasal mucus sample test is more reliable and blood test is less. I've no idea how can anyone have? what is true.
There's also something going on with the result: one outcome trustworthiness is less then the other (I dunno if positive over negative or vice versa). The whole thing is a big clusterfuck.

>>42011
>don't need a vaccine
Not now. But it will be seasonal with seasonal vaccination. And it mutates to new strains. Some of those will need new vaccine. We're gonna stand in line every two weeks for a new shot.
Btw I like how they made in record time a bunch of vaccine for SARS-CoV-2, while they couldn't for SARS-CoV-1...
And with 90-95% effectiveness, meanwhile simple flueshot has the effectiveness of 10-60%.
I bet these vaccines also make everyone beautiful and rich, ends global warming, and solves starvation in the 3rd world.

>That's good, you didn't die and now you don't need a vaccine.

Considering that there are plenty of talks about "covid passports" in Russia, I still would need to prove that everything is ok. And considering buerocratic system, it wouldn't be too easy without some official document about vaccination.

>>42042
>Here media says the throat/nasal mucus sample test is more reliable and blood test is less.

Here media says different, although those test have different goals. Throat test detects virus in throat that would spread to others, and (as they say) it detects it earlier, but with a margin of error. It also stops detecting virus after some time, while it is circulating in body, but becomes suppressed by antibodies in throat.

Blood test has less errors, but it detects antibodies that start to produce after near a week or so. And you can spread the virus in meantime, because you don't know if it is covid or not.

>Not now. But it will be seasonal with seasonal vaccination.

Yes, it would be same as with flu. Although I've never got any flu vaccine, maybe only as child, everything is ok and nobody cared.

This is such a bs. Why would something like this necessary? Are they insane? They expect you to be unemployed until it goes down? Do they think: "you better be not searching for other jobs if you wanna work for us"?
Anyway good luck! Every job is shit and every employer is an asshole, but I wish you can find one that will be bearable enough.

I was thinking a time to apply for whatever jobs and go to interviews to have a casual chat there, not for getting a job. Maybe for some people this would be even a good tactic to feel less stressed about it, and could even score a place.

Liek some companies like Amazon and Facebook take an entire day or a week of interviews for them to make a final decision. While smaller companies tend to have 1 or 2 interviews and you start working with them in a few days after the paperwork. Depends on the company. Well, I've had a few good jobs during the years, so they aren't all bad.

>I was thinking a time to apply for whatever jobs and go to interviews to have a casual chat there, not for getting a job. Maybe for some people this would be even a good tactic to feel less stressed about it, and could even score a place.

You would be surprised, but I've actually heard of people getting actual well paying jobs that way. The only thing is that you have to be REALLY GOOD at what you're doing for them to consider you for their company.

I dreamt I was walking uphill on a dirt road trees and bushes around. It was night but things around looked as if they were lighted - I don't remember any light source -, shapes were sharp, clear, the scenery looked wet like after rain, but the dirt road was dry. When I arrived to the top an asphalt road run perpendicularly, as thing as the dirt road, but it looked wet. To the left hand where I headed it also went uphill with a slight curve. Houses were on the two sides, well, their fences and hedges, with black wrought-iron gates. Here lampposts lined along the road. There weren't a soul nearby. It was pretty nice overall.
Now I wasn't alone, I knew I had to pales, a man and a woman, we went ahead and I knew this happened already, maybe not even once. I knew there will be a pistol on the road ahead, but there wasn't any. Then we moved into a building, a large one. Large in the sense it spread on a large area. It was like many houses and buildings next to each other, opening into each other with no streets between them. Anything with residential and commercial purpose. Maybe even a hospital too. They were of various styles, some with retro feeling. And they were overcrowded. So many people everywhere.
We were separated from each other but we sensed where are the others, I think we could communicate too. We knew there were armed people about and we needed to find weapons. We were unnoticed in the crowd. I think we could get a pistol and a submachine gun.
That's what I remember.

Again dreamt a couple of weird vivid dreams.
I was outside, in the woods, but there was a line of cabinets, with glass on this side. A statue stood in the left corner, darkened by shadow. Tiny humanoids, size of ants went by it into a temple. They did not walk but floated, or how a conveyor belt would move them slowly. Someone else was with me I don't know who, some work needed to be done there. Then the statue moved to the right a bit and I saw that only the head is shaped, otherwise it looked like some longish rock. The head resembled to Chuthulhu's head. I reached in and flicked its "beard" it was like thick rubber. The eyes lighted up white, not sure if they were even before or as a reaction to my action. Then I/we went further and after the cabinet a row of what could be called as ossuaries or maybe just weird coffins on each other. They were made of clay and dirt, they reminded me of a cocoon of a certain wasp(?) which creates a hard shell for the larvae. On the short side facing us thick iron plate closed these boxes. Writings were on the surface I assume names and such. We had to break these things, I think the backside of these plates which were covered in clay. "Conservation of resources" or something like this was our reason. I woke up at this point.
Later this night, was morning then, I dreamt I put a bed, a large one, up to a tree, and covered it with a silk sheet.

Going mediocre at best. House was filled with old things for 20+ years, but recently, due to some changes (distant relatives got own dacha and decided to take back their old furniture etc), there is some kind of large cleanup. I also decided to dump everything that I don't need, so every visit ends with filling 10 bags of trash. Thanks Czechs for large trunks on their cars. So, electricity still postponed again. I've decided to use LED strips for ceiling and already got free LED power adapter (150W) from friend, now it is only about LED strip and free time. I've tried LED strip at home in kitchen, and it is pretty good.

But there are other problems: water in well became slightly muddy, so it needs cleaning. Electrical saw broke last weekend, just stopped working - tomorrow I'll try to open it and fix. Grass trimmer also had problems with cord.

One wall at second floor also became visibly curved, so I guess I'll need to call some engineer or such to analyze what can be done and do anything need to be done at all.

So a simple bearing replacement might not be that simple because the bearing might not be the same sized it is used in contemporary bikes?
Does that bike use coaster brake (we call it "kontra" since it works when pedaling in contrary direction)?

>So a simple bearing replacement might not be that simple because the bearing might not be the same sized it is used in contemporary bikes?

Everything is different. There are plenty of projects in net about modification of this bike, and most of them include lathe-made details and metal work, because modern (Chinese mostly) parts are different. That thing that I've disassembled called "bottom bracket" (I don't understand anything in bikes though, so may be wrong), and looks like it has design called "Thompson" that is officially rare (stated in Wiki), etc. Although I think I've had some similar old bearings somewhere, so maybe it would be easier.

>Does that bike use coaster brake (we call it "kontra" since it works when pedaling in contrary direction)?

Yes. It is old bike designed in USSR ("Salut", folding one), it has no gear shifting, steel frame (so it is 15kg full) and overall pretty simple. Picrelated of the mostly complete bike from internet.

Our folding bikes made by Csepel (Weiss Manfred Works, I think I mentioned in the tank thread) were called "Camping".

Fixed in finally. I'm pretty inept person, so first I combined old bracket with some new parts, but diameter of new central rod was slightly different so it can't be assembled with old pedals. Then I used main rod from old one and assembled it successfully, only to see that I did it at wrong side (other side must be longer). At third time I finally did it though.

There are some problems with pedals and handlebar mounting (both in shitty condition), but overall it is working and bike may be used normally.

Also bought cheap chainsaw and it is ok (at least for now).

I think you just left the planning part out. I usually do the same. Third times the charm as they say. Or three is the Hungarian truth, as we say.

You need to modify the bike so you can sit in the pack rack over the back wheel and steer with long handles, would be like a chopper.
Bikes are good stuff. Even if one cannot ride them can be useful to move heavier loads when pushed. Maybe a third wheel on the side so it won't need holding.

If some kind of a immortality could be achieved with technology (think of any number of ideas sci-fi writers could come up with from cloning to preserving consciousness in computers, etc.), sure some/many people would disregard it, for various reasons. Would these people be considered as a danger to those who wanted to preserve themselves for eternity? Or at least a subset of them?

Bernd 10/16/2021 (Sat) 01:06:39 [Preview] No.45310 del

Some of them might but I think in general it would be better for the immortals to actually foster this desire depending on how easy it was to become immortal. If it was affordable to the average person it would cause a huge glut in the population. That would have to be managed somehow, immortals would also compete with other immortals in pretty much everything, simply because they have the time to gather resources and knowledge but that would go against mortals as well, basically everybody who was anybody would be immortal, they would be an aristocracy and that would bread animosity which feeds back to what you said, so then if it was nearly impossible to become immortal the elite would actually encourage it so that the mortal population did not see them as the enemy who rules over them but as a target to reach one day even if it is next to impossible.

Even the premise, why would people want immortality, in what form they'd want it (like an eternal youth solution would be more appealing, which would depend on the technology), would they really want it, could their mind even handle that much longevity, or their motivation to remain alive could stay with them.
Now that's a curious thought. In a world where death doesn't exist, would people be motivated to do anything really? Greatest motivation behind all human activity is the fear of death (even procreation, or simply sex is motivated by this ultimately).

Bernd 10/16/2021 (Sat) 15:42:18 [Preview] No.45314 del

Immortality is one of my goals in life, it's part of why I want to become rich. The mind probably could handle it if the obvious alignments that occur with advanced age were dealt with, you would just forget and misremember a lot of what had happened last century or so.

I would not agree that the fear of death is man's greatest motivator or that s*x is motivated by that, procreation to a small degree might be but only to a small degree in that they want to leave something behind but even then there are many ways to do that and often better ways too, Leonardo da Vinci had no children after all. People would look after themselves much better if fear of death was a primary motivator as well. If I was immortal I would be motivated to do even more in a way, because things would be less transitory and it makes everything much more obtainable and realistic. If you have time you can achieve anything.

I already have a plan to become rich, I'm going to waste my money share trading until my parents die and I inherit their wealth.

As I said, people would live far healthier lives if that were true, they would not do dangerous jobs either. I think immortality actually would increase the motivation that the fear of death has rather than decrease it though. Let's assume that your are 30 years old and not immortal, well you are probably halfway through your active life and you are going to die one day of course. But if you are immortal, suddenly you are not halfway thorough your life and you are not going to die of natural causes, you could only ever die of an accident or murder or something like that, so climbing Mt Everest might not end half of the life that was going to end soon anyway but 99/100s of a life that was almost never going to end.

I think this would have many other related effects, you would be much more careful with looking after your body if you had any sense as scars would last far more longer.

I don't see a point to Macs. You are just locking yourself into a system that cannot have it's hardware upgraded and is limited in what programs it can use. There probably are some use cases for them but they seem to be more revolved around professionals that might make use of specific programs rather than the general consumer.

-1 for the Mac. It is not self-sufficient in the sense that if something brakes you can't just change a part out yourself.
If you can afford a Mac, you can afford to have spare parts for the pc, or buy spare parts if something goes sideways. In fact I would acquire the cheapest parts available for testing purposes to look for the faulty hardware (via exclusion by swapping with the cheapo parts), then buy a new one if it is found.

>I know for webdevving even very low end pc's are fine

Modern webdev is pretty resource-consuming, but it depends on tools that developer uses. Generic web project now is overweight shit that requires complex building procedures (hello, webpack) to do even simple things, especially considering that typical js coder rarely can write complex code at all and uses heavy external libs for basic tasks. Old but good article: https://www.davidhaney.io/npm-left-pad-have-we-forgotten-how-to-program/

So even simple app that uses all that shit may consume for rebuilding itself after changes much more resources than scientific mainframe in 1995 consumed for complex weather calculation. It isn't true fault of library/tool authors but mostly result of flaws in industry on grand scale, when endless layers of abstraction are written in more and more generic way to allow faster and easier development with unskilled people. And in the end you, even if you are good coder who cares about optimizations, still need to use these tools because it is industry standard that you need to use for commercial development. It is hard to find anything commercial in web frontend without react/vue/nuxt/next/whatever, even if you want to avoid it. And it is hard to avoid web frontend when you are in web, maybe only even in large companies when separation of work truly exists.

Common modern editors (IDEs mostly) are also pretty overweight. Editor sometimes consumes more CPU and RAM than developed app (even when app is used in production). Of course there are lightweight tools like old-school vim, but common webdev now rarely can code in these things (I've seen multiple people who can't edit 30 lines of simple code in notepad-like editor, and they've had years of commercial experience).

And don't forget about web browsers that eat all resources just because they can.

Of course it depends on what you mean in "low end pc". If you mean average PC from 2015 or such, all these tools would work ok (although not that fast as you want), but on something from 2010 it would be too slow.

My tactic was that I let him stab through the backrest then turned the thing to twist the sword of of his hands, but the blade got near to my body and he pulled out of the backrest and it sliced into my flesh from my left hip to my right shoulder, it was a superficial wound considering how much damage a sword could do. The most memorable thing was that I felt the edge sliding in my flesh. I cut my hands and fingers million times throughout the years (side effect of working/having a hobby with sharp tools), and there is that sensation when for some reason the accidental cut you make is done slow and deep and you feel it separating the tissue. It was the same.
Then I was in a room reminding me of an alternative medicine store with shelves all around, candles, crystals, teabags and whatnots. Low, pleasant lighting but no smells - luckily - like such a store would smell. I had to solve a puzzle of a sort, and gained the pieces of the puzzle with solving riddles. I got the directions on papers and from a ghost maybe.
Had a chain of short scenes one after another these two were parts of those, but can only remember these.

It's not really the good offers, but the hiring. It would be nice if you were hired, even if the offer is not so great.
Since then I read a bit here and there, from other countries too. I think most places need residence permit, or some local address. Also some places demands to pay taxes for localities, and such. Really lotta stuff needs to be looked up.

Sometimes I put couple of yoga mats on each other on the floor, and a blanket folded in half, and sleep on that for weeks. Sometimes it is comfy, but sometimes my lower back hurts from that. I dunno.
I dreamt I was a passanger in an airplane made of car and canvas... It flew some, but then it was just a car rolling on the roads. The weird thing was it was my hometown which never is in my dreams. The roads were all cracked and crumpled as if they were bombed or an earthquake had broken them.

Finally got time to do a partial repair of balcony in flat. House was built in 70s and balcony part wasn't touched much from that time, although in 90s simple windows were installed (before it was open), but it was still cold and had open gaps. Wooden planks that covered steel barrier also had wide gaps between them, so in winter it had near -10 C temperature in coldest days. That wasn't fun.

I've planned to do something simple in autumn, just as temporary measure before full-scale home renovation, but current situation in this forsaken place paused all money-consuming plans for indefinite amount of time. Plan was simple, remove old wooden planks, place insulation where it can be placed, fill all gaps and close everything with cheap PVC planks. Considering that I'm not an experienced builder at all, I've decided to don't touch anything complex including windows, because their replacement requires replacing the steel barrier. It is also pretty high here, and I'm afraid to do anything with barrier anyway.

First I've used polyurethane sealant to fill small gaps, then started to remove planks. Reality as always broke all plans, because I've discovered that everything is skewed, curved and half-broken inside. Some parts go off from straight lines for few centimeters, right part is completely open (can see neighbor one), rusty nails breaking on removal etc. I also overestimated some sizes and underestimated amount of insulation cutting for filling everything, so it was very time consuming.

So it is transformed from first photo to last, but I can work only on weekends, so it will be finished completely in next month at least.

>Will you do something about the floortiles?

Only cleaning for now. Maybe I'll put linoleum there.

Main problem that it is just a temporary fix - old windows are pretty bad and have only single glass. For our climate anything without double glasses is nothing. But replacing windows with modern one requires removal of all this steel thing and making brick barrier, because steel one is too weak and even now has some curve from light load. But this can't be done by myself, it is too complex. So, if everything will be broken anyway in the future, replacing floor tiles "properly" (removing old ones, flattening surface etc) is meaningless task. As temporary one I only think about linoleum or something like cheap carpets.

>>47338
>Yeah, fill the gaps with PURfoam and hope for the best. Weirdly I yet to use one, but I think some work will needs that in the not so distant future.

Yes, already filled everything with foam. Although foams degrade from UV, and outer side of insulation sometimes gets light in sunny days through gaps (inner side is closed by panels now). I hope that it will work for few years at least.

>I thought that's normal temperature for Russian soul.

I'm ok with those temperatures actually, but is makes balcony unusable in winter. It is a good place to store vegetables at cold season to preserve space in refrigerator, but having temperatures below zero is bad for them. It also doesn't allow putting things like storage PC (handmade NAS) there. I'll be ok if it will be more than 0 C at most severe winter (it is rarely below -20) after all this. Don't know if it would work though.

Anyway, finished panel placement yesterday, so can stop now and think about moldings for junctions and remaining gaps.

Maybe a transparent plastic foil that covers all the windows in winter could serve as double window. Question is how to fix it in place airtight. Maybe velcro fastener? Glue strips on the window around, and on the plastic sheet, then velcro it up. It could be taken down during warm seasons (some plastics also UV degradable, so that could give longevity).
Btw aren't you worried about you get doxxed?

I've seen some solutions like this, but don't think it would help much, because it wouldn't be that airtight. Maybe saving few degrees or such. Although it is interesting idea to try.

>Btw aren't you worried about you get doxxed?

Only partially. It is 20 million people here and half of them live in same commieblock-filled landscapes like this. Some people can try to identify specific district, but there are 150k people nearby and very similar views from windows.

>Also got deserted by most of my irl friends
At least I have my KC bros with me. hopefully nothing crazy happens in the next few months

Also ans have a big issue. It involves 2 psycho stalkers in my life a lil bit of a rant

1) stalker #1: a mega kein from my high school. He's currently doing nothing important in his life except talking caca about everyone in high school. He's a grocery store clerk. I'm a programmer. He doesn't like me but still stalks me on normie sites. and caca talking about me. Which doesn't really bother me

2) stalker #2: a very insecure, fat manlet kein who's been following me around every day for almost a year now. Who I legit think is halfway retarded or something Because he's always saying some really dumb and low I.Q Especially about me, or he just starts to scream and has spastic outbursts for no reason. he also does hard drugs like cocaine. He's shown an used bag before. Following me to cafes, obsessively following me on normie sites I had to block him bc of that, even following me near places I've worked in ffs. he scampers away before I notice him. Sometimes even recording me and what I say. Just a complete crazy maniac that you would only find in either a mental asylum, or a very badly made horror movie. he has a female friend that really hates me. But I don't care about her, cuz she's senile tier old and immature. I think I did some random thing to piss her off a while ago while she was near me cuz she's always sending him to say dumb shit on her behalf. He's liek 50 years old and has managed to piss off so many people in his life (liek 40 - 100+ people), that it's kinda crazy to think about.

Now, both of these people say that they don't like me. And have made that very clear in the past. But they can't stop obsessing over me. Literally every waking hour of their lives are dedicated to me for some reason. Is it my good looks? XDDDD But being srs, it's annoying. I can't seem to get rid of them from my life.

I'm sorry to read that, Bernd. I have my share of being left I know nothing about cheating, but in case of breaking relationships in many cases the one who breaks it up at least has someone else in mind, but such is life. There is a saying that I can recall exactly right now, but means better have the experience then not have it at all. There are good things and feelings to remember, and the bad we should step over and move on.
My advice is to confront her, and see what she has to say. I also advise to breaking up - because once cheated, repeating it becomes easier, plus there might be loss of respect -, but it can be done elegantly and head held up high after hearing her out, don't need to be petty even if it hurts what she did.
>friends
My experience is that as time goes on friends drift away. Life gives all of us many things to do. Not to mention many of us careless enough not to tend to friendships. Besides many people are rather act on its own interests, and if they see no gain, then just pass on.
As we get older it is harder and harder to make new friendships, because being busy and less opportunities to do such adventures together that forge the bonds of friendship.
It also feels as a problem in our societies on larger scale, the individualization, isolation.
I don't think it will get better.
What we can do, is strengthen ourselves to deal with shit alone, plus seek out those who are reliable, and also be reliable ourselves. And offer our help to others in need.

Looks like you are already unhappy, so this is a good way to drop the relationship. At least you wouldn't have much thoughts like "maybe we had a chance". Women are pretty evil and manipulative creatures, and it is better to avoid most manipulative ones. Otherwise you'll spend much time in vain.

I've had some long unsuccessful relationships in past and only thing that I regret is that I did spend too much time and emotions in them. Like being in unsure relationship state for few years, when you don't really understand if she your girlfriend or just friend (very typical).

>friends

As >>47670 said, friends come and go, so time will help anyway. In different periods of life I've always had some "best friends", but they slowly moved away when life changed, because we lost everyday contact. Now I'm in contact only with few persons from school and university, and surprisingly these people weren't even my big friends in past. And these people are pretty good friends now. In past I couldn't even imagine that this will happen.

>I didn't really ask for anything major, but I'm getting ignored hard by them

It depends on your personality - if you are sociable person it is hard when you have such friends. Try to be more individualistic and rely only on yourself, it helps.

>>47666
>stalkers

Be more cynical. Ignore them or go into confrontation to make they ignore you. Although better just stop caring.

Looks like these people have some problems and you helping them for some reason (maybe just by your existence), but this isn't really fun.

>Literally every waking hour of their lives are dedicated to me for some reason.

This means that you at least not so boring ordinary person. Not a big achievement, but small gain for own pride.

Well stalkers are usually want 1. attention, 2. feel to be in control/power. If they don't get these they can escalate further or just get bored and stop (and look for other entertainment, maybe someone else who reacts easier).
The first one doesn't sound too bad, and relatively easy to ignore. The second is more problematic because he seeks personal contact.
I think you should ignore as much stuff as possible, and don't get bothered by it. You might wanna think of it as some kind of weird entertainment, and say to yourself: "this guy is here again, let's see how he makes fool of himself this time". You also might wanna discuss this with family and friends yes, you getting more isolated from friends as you said makes it harder sadly, but be aware that you should tell it in a way that doesn't make you look like a crazy person. Plus the stalkers might approach them and stalk them too, so a kind warning also due to them, to be careful and stay safe.
You should be mindful about locking your home and keep your belongings safe. And since it is annoying you also should learn to relax. Especially in the evenings, so you can have a good night sleep, because that can influence your everyday performance tremendously.
Make your life less predictable for them. Take alternative routs, do stuff in non-regular times.
You should check local laws, about stalking (harassment?), libel (since they spread doodoo, it could fall into this category), and self-defense, so you know what can you do, and when can you turn to law-enforcement. You might wanna ask a lawyer too. If it is possible, it is legal, get a pepper spray in case they turn violent.
I also advise to do some sports. In some organized form with people. Maybe martial arts would be the best, since those offers self-defense techniques too. But the main thing is to get in shape, and keep healthy.

Pretty much described those 2 losers perfectly. #1 guy has a kid so he's not too on top of me he's also very poor. Why did he have a kid then?. #2 guy is just a nutjob, who has had issues with so many people in the past. Not just me. He even got evicted once and lived in a cheap hostel at one point before squatting in some meh tier flat.

>just get bored and stop
He doesn't work or do anything all day. Apart from bothering people, this is all he does all day long. Even at night

So even the second one isn't dangerous in the sense of violence. That is good. From what you are telling I think the issue is that with the recent events in your life these actions might chip away from your confidence and makes you feel worse generally.
Still, there is harassment and libel. If you turn to authorities keep in mind they will asking questions from you, which might seem unfriendly or hostile (here they really do seem like that), but it mostly comes from scrutiny they want to see what really is to the case. They'll ask if they did physical harm or threatened with that. If there is any evidence you can show, especially about the recurring nature of their activity. Some of the stalkers are crafty fucks with covering tracks and can make it appear that when their victim tries to seek help that person will look like a rambling idiot. Witnesses and written statements of theirs are good too. You should take care you tell everything coherently. It isn't a problem if you are a bit excited, anxious, just stay coherent. You also should tell how their/his activity effects you. You can tell you don't fear from physical harm, but make sure you tell their intrusions into your life cause anxiety and fear from further intrusions. That they are more than minor annoyances. I dunno how these things treated in the West, so asking a lawyer first (who also will ask questions) would be good.
The main thing is we might not control others actions, but we have control over ours. You have control over yourself and how you feel about yourself.
Also the second bloke sounds someone whom I would really prank or push back. You should resist such thoughts. It isn't just escalation which wouldn't stop him, if you take legal actions it is better if the authorities don't find a back and forth war between you two.
There are ways to push them back hard enough, but I'm not good at coming up and doing such that would miss the attention of authorities (I'm too straight on confrontational, and this needs some more, hmm, craftiness), and - don't take this the wrong way but - you doesn't sound like one who could execute something like that.

For a bunch of things they criticized them, one was that they don't run fast enough. Then I was on the streets where the students run, and the younger ones were actually faster then the seniors, whom still harassed and ridiculed them that they can't run. Then they started to show how it should be done, and they started to make some poses while running, like flexing muscles, or liek that anime meme running pose and whatnot. They were still slower ofc. I might be able to buy a house. Might. The government has all kinds of schemes to get people into the housing market, and there was a new government elected in Australia that is adding more. Some is federal some is state based so then I have to contact various departments to find out what I can get and what schemes can be used with each other.
I'm too arrogant to live in poorer areas with the poor people which is the reason I have not been able to get a house already.

The house I should be able to get will not be anything special. I want a nice country house with acreage but this will just be a normal newly built suburban 3 bedroom house but in a country town(for now, it's basically a suburb of the state capital already), not sure if I will have to build it or not yet, building is better in many ways but if it's pre build I don't have to wait for it to be built.

Now I will be a part of the growing suburbia ruining my area though...

The government is implementing a scheme were they will share up to 40% of the loan with you, so the catch is that if you sell the house then 40% of the value of the house will go to the government or more if the house looses value as they will share profits with you but they won't share losses. But there are a limited number of places in the scheme so I have to get in fast. There is a limit on the values of the house as well, $950,000 in some areas like Sydney but then only $400,000 in others but it's enough. They must go by average house price or something.

It's not that big in Australia. Because of how much building is going on and all the schemes to get people into the housing market. Basically, if you can rent a decent house then you should be able to buy one.

Yes, it's in Australian denarii.
It's not that big, I was looking at the website for the company that built my mum's house(which is 4 bed rooms but was modified from a 5 bedroom plan, she turned one into a second living are) and they don't actually build 2 bedroom houses. Though I know other companies do build them because I have seen them, they are just rare.

Of course it will include a kitchen... They include a bath room plus at least the master bedroom will have an en suite, I'd probably delete that though. I don't like them.
They have at least one living room but if it's just one it will be the open living kind what is in the same area as the kitchen, which I don't like.
They seem to always put the master bedroom right in the front which I don't like either.

Here is an example of one of the cheapest plans from the website($150,000).
I call them suburban homes but it's pushing it. Nowadays most houses are on tiny blocks which is why this house is so long, you will have a fence along each site and then a tiny back yard. I hope to at least get a larger block though.

I have been looking through the latest Australian census data.

From 2011 to 2021, my country town has gone from 14,000 people to 22,000 people...

Average personal income in 2021 here is $825 a week, Average for my state is $734 a week and for the Nation it's $805 a week.

Some more interesting facts.

In 2016 the Population of Australia was 23.4 million, in 2021 it is 25.4 million

In 2016 the average age was 38 in Australia, in 2021 it is 38

In 2016 48% of Australians were married, in 2021 46% are

in 2016 66.7% of people were born in Australia, in 2021 66.9% were

in 2016 34.5% of both parents were born overseas and in 2021 that is 36.7%

In 2016 29.6% put down no religion, in 2021 38.4% did

In 2016 72.7% of households spoke English only, now 72% do

So all in all it's a continuation of the kind of trends one would expect. Though I was surprised by the leap in atheism. Keep in mind that people put down joke answers half the time as well, Jedai is a popular one, I put down Taoist this year.

Now that we are at stalkers.
There is one fella on /ausneets/ who isn't a good fella by far, becaue he tries doxxing people, and even stalk them. Apparently he did find one bloke, although it seems they live in same city. But his example shows that with enough autism, just from photos and textual breadcrumbs, applying logic and doing endless hours of google map/streetview searches one can find, close on people.
The thing is knowing he is doing it actually is a good reminder to be careful when posting personal stuff. People in familiar environment tend to let their guard down, and become careless. As far as I know and for now he is relatively harmless, but such people are obviously annoying and even can be terrifying for those who are targeted, they also can be put into uncomfortable situation which detrimentally effect their life, their family, or their career. But out there can be people who are actually want do to harm, or belong to an organization, be it criminal, law enforcement, or some other government agencies, who will try to exploit the information they gather.
So be careful, Bernd, and stay safe.

Has Bernd ever tried to put couple of drops of cold water into his ear on purpose (not getting it there while showering, swimming, etc.)?
It's an interesting feeling, how the cold drops tickling the ear canal as they find their way inside. Then the water warms up in there and if let it flow out, it feel warm for the ear (probably the body is warmer in the depth of the ear canal).
Makes me think of how fluid consumption keeps a part in regulating temperature and we don't really pay it any mind. We drink a glass of water 5-10 C temp, that is warmed up by the body, which takes away heat from the body. Then the piss leaves at body temp. Or how the heat of a hot soup gets transferred to the body and that heat has to get rid off if outside temperature is also high, which makes us sweating.
Keeping fluid levels up in winter is most important. We are less thirsty in cold weather, so drink less, this has to be countered consciously. But for example if we are outside and relatively stationary (no heat produced from the work of the muscles), drinking cold water is a bad idea, dragging down body temperature.

I guess this is more of a blog thread thing than a Syria thread thing.
Anyway, my uncle is at the airport leaving for Ukraine, well Poland. He's an idiot he should have went to France or somewhere less suspicious, it's illegal to do what he is doing in this country and he could easily be stopped by customs if he does not have a good cover story.
I talked to him about it a few days ago, his idea of the war is quite pro-Ukrainian and he does not seem to understand how serious this is. It's pointless arguing with him as he just gets emotional and yells at you so I didn't challenge him on his idea of the Ukrainians being super soldiers and the Russians being completely incompetent and anything that goes against that being fake, I just asked what would happen if Russia mobilised the whole country and actually went to war and again he still things it's like a game or something and that the Russians won't be able to do anything no matter how many there are.
A lot of how he talks about it is like that, like he says that if he does not have a rifle with an optic rail he will just take it from a dead Russian, he says that he does not understand why the Ukrainians just sit in their trenches in the Donbass they should get out the trenches and suppress the Russians with their rifles and then advance on them, he said he was not going to accept prisoners either and he would kill them, as I said I don't really bother arguing with him I just told him that was a war crime and said that if nothing else a Russian POW can be traded for a Ukrainian one.
He's alt-right and has some strange ideas, I think he watches too much Youtube. He was stockpiling pasta before because he thinks the economy is going to collapse and he got chocolate as well because he says that can be used to attract women(just how bad does he think it will get), he thinks he will be back from Ukraine by Christmas.
Maybe he will, he's not going to the Donbass or Kherson. Where he is going it's pretty quite, it's still a war of course but if he really is only going for a few months then he might be okay.

No this isn't the Foreign legion he's probably too old and he has no combat experience which I think they ask for now. He uses Telegram and has all kinds of contacts I guess, so he already contacted a unit online and organised everything, well this is the second one, the first was run by the SBU or something but they stopped accepting foreigners. Him and some other online people will meet up in Poland and get driven to the unit from there where they will have paper work and equipment organised for them.

He's pretty annoying and was becoming very bitter about politics and such, telling his kids they will never go to uni because they are white males and such and every time I see him he talks about /pol/ type things(I don't think he actually goes there). I hope that when he gets there he will have a reality check and see how dangerous it is and maybe think that life is not so bad and that even if society is not great he can think of the positives things instead of the negative ones and he will come back with a new view on things.

I don't think anybody is there for money, they are there for adventure and to defend the democratic and European Ukraine against the evil Russians, any money they get is just a bonus if they get any at all. He is getting paid though(well that is what they say), that is part of the paperwork, they are setting up a bank account for him. He has been to Bosnia during the Bosnia war but he never saw combat there, he wasn't paid much at all if anything, I don't think he expects much in Ukraine either.
It's the same reason people went to fight for the Kurds. It's something I would do as well if it was not so dangerous and I don't even care about Ukraine.

I think if somebody was only interested in the money then they would have a more realistic and objective view on it and probably decide that the risks where not worth whatever the pay was.

Not sure. I recently got telegram to communicate with him, it's fairly underwhelming, I had expected a rival to Twitter but really it's just like texting people and even news feeds are just a series of texts.

Anyway, he got to Poland and met up with the others and they were drinking for a week or so in Poland, then he travelled to Khakiv, then I got telegram and I started talking to him, I asked if he had got to his unit yet, he said that he looked at two but they were both 'sh*t' and he was going to look at more, I had thought that he organised everything with a unit before then, he even told me the unit commanders name and said how it sounded German and that he hoped he was.
The next day I asked if he found another unit, he said he had and was signing paper work and stuff but was only going to get an AK-74 with iron sight, but he would see what he could do about that later, then I asked for a photo of it and he said he would send one when he got it.
So the next day I contacted him again and asked what was happening and he said he was about to get weapons and go to the front, he did not tell me where but he mentioned a very easy to find feature so I know roughly where he is and he said that he would send the photo soon.
That was yesterday, today I sent a message asking about the picture of the rifle and I didn't hear anything from him, Telegram has a feature that tells you when somebody was last online and it says he was last online a few hours after the conversation the day before. So who knows, maybe he is dead already or maybe they took his phone from him. As I said, I know roughly where he is, there was shelling in the area yesterday but none was mentioned in the latest report. I think he's probably fine they just took his phone or he is really busy, I might talk to other relatives to see if they herd anything if I don't hear from him in a few days.

I went visiting family today. I saw my uncle and asked about the front. He said that it's corrupt and the officer pocket all the funding and equipment and leave the guys at the front with barely anything, he said they had terrible food and old AK-74s and stuff. He said there was a shipment of Glocks that was meant for the unit that the officers had just simply taken and sold. He said that when he asked if he could sight his rifle before going to the front he was told that he could sight the rifle on the enemy and that when at the front it was quite in that sector but a T-90 would appear every day and shell them for a bit and he asked why they had not done anything about it and was told they had Javelin missiles but no sights for them. He said that he was going to get paid $3,500 USD a month but he left so did not get any, that's not that much really, that's about what you get in an entry level job here. But as I said, people are not there for money.

Apparently he did actually join the Foreighn legion, I did not think he would because I thought that was a more organised unit but no. Not long ago members form the legion submitted a written complaint to the Ukrainian government complaining about things like I had mentioned and also that they were being ordered to rob stores and stuff.
Well I guess that is the last of that. Good that he survived at least.

I also saw my Grandmother. She was reading Hornblower which is series I saw her reading months ago and she only has three of them in the series. She reads all the time but I don't think she has enough books so she reads what she has over and over again. I said last time I saw here that I would buy here the whole Hornblower series for Christmas but I think I will buy it and just give it to her as a gift, she needs more books to read.

Had a weird dream. Not the habbening themselves, but the feels I had and having as I recall it.
I was in high-school. Not my irl high-school, but it was mine in the dream. I was in highest grade, the 4th, and maybe the year was near the end. I know I had a status and privileges that came not just by the fact that I'm basically outta school, but something more that happened which I did not see in my dream I don't know what it is, I only had the feeling. For this status I could do whatever I wanted, I was free. But for some reason I was bound there, like a haunting ghost.
I was at the very end of a long and wide hallway on the 4th floor. Maybe there were more floors, the building was hueg and kinda modern, gates opened to other hallways (well they were closed, but I knew other hallways running behind them). For some reason that part of the hallway was also separated by a double door, it was open, lower graders were there in a bunch, with big backpacks some placed along the walls, some in the middle, they were talking and busy with school life. Some I knew, at least exchanged couple of words in the past, some of them know me by name, some just by face, but most seemed not to care who I was and if I was there.
I lingered out from that place started along the hallway, most students (all lower graders ofc) have not noticed me at all, and I felt a pang that they should, maybe they should even fear me. Maybe I saw teachers too. The hallways were green-ish, the doors, gates dark brown-ish.
Then I arrived to a central place, an atrium maybe, on my left there was an opening to the actual atrium, a rectangle court in the middle, around each floor had railing, and tiled roof run around. I looked down, students milled about there too. The color orange ruled there, for both the lighting (maybe for the Sun?) and the roofing. I saw my classmates at the other end of the court, they were only five, I had the feeling that we are more, and that only us six remained. I felt warmth towards them but I was proud, happy but also sad.
Where I was on the 4th, there was no railing, and I decided I won't use the stairs to go down but jump down from roof to roof. It was quicker, but it felt as if it was cool to just do that, because I could and not give a shit, if anyone bothers say something. So I did. Noone cared. The disappointment was short, as I walked to my mates. Paradise City from Guns n Roses started to play. Three grills were there, and a bloke. The fifth I'm not sure who was, but I think was also a grill. They were discussing something with heat, but with joy, they had fun. There was one grill with her back to me. Her hair was kinda short, brown, she had sweatshirt on. I approached them and said: "this is our song". I did not mean how like couples mean it, but I knew there was a story behind it, which now irl I do not know. It felt like going home. I dreamt I was directing - and acting in it - an amateur movie worse than Wakaliwood productions for the actors were way less enthusiastic. It was shot among commieblocks. The main villains were played by 7-9 grills, and for the final boss fight I had to pretend fight with someone's granma. The old lady's late husband did do boxing so she knew all the moves, the jabs and hooks. The whole thing was funny in a way and embarrassing as Bernd can imagine. It was also infuriating somewhat since the actors did not want to act - despite they (or the community or whatnot) wanted the movie in the first place - especially the men, the grills did relatively fine.

Is Bernd familiar with stingless bees and their honey? In South America they're the native bees and Apis, though vastly more common, are an invasive species. Their hives look quite different, the combs (not honeycombs, because honey is on the wax pots in the corners) are stacked horizontally and distinctive structures are built at the exit. Their absence of poison is a major advantage in beekeeping, but they produce a lot less comercially. Their honey is hard to find for sale and costs a fortune. It's got more water and acids and less sugar. I've recently had the opportunity to taste a tiny sample, and it's still sufficiently sweet; what stood out was the strong and pleasant fragrance reminding me of vegetation. It's a shame it's so rare. I know older people who are nostalgic for it, and even an old woman who knows how to find hives in the woods, but she's got too little eyesight to try it today.

I can't say I am. Maybe I heard about them passingly.
They are all over South Am?
They preserve the same as other honeys, practically indefinitely?
Well that old woman should be interviewed, and record her knowledge. I would go by ear, listening to buzzing, also there could be certain circumstances they prefer, sunlight or shade, certain type of vegetation. How much they travel?
>the strong and pleasant fragrance reminding me of vegetation
Sounds good. Honey indeed differ depending what type of flowers collected from.

>They preserve the same as other honeys, practically indefinitely?
Lower sugar and higher water content means it's less viscous and more prone to fermentation. It must be stored in the fridge and won't last indefinitely.
>They are all over South Am?
And the tropics. The Australian Bernd might know, they're also kept comercially there. They're so omnipresent they're barely even noticed, lots of them are tiny. It doesn't mean they're all useful for honey, many forage on excrement and some even on rotten flesh. And even then, the number of species kept for their honey is wide.
>Well that old woman should be interviewed, and record her knowledge.
Folk knowledge on this should be preserved, but it isn't going away. Meliponiculture is as much of a science as apiculture, and biologists are certainly researching hive identification.
>How much they travel?
The bigger the bee, the further away it goes. The ones I see are smaller than Apis.
>Sounds good. Honey indeed differ depending what type of flowers collected from.
In this case it's more about different enzymes than flowers, the fragrance is completely different from Apis honey produced in the same region.

But I picked up some other info, liek Brazil is the largest producer of "organic" honey, but the production is heavily influenced by weather, especially snowy conditions can impact it negatively.

>Tried to look up if I can buy Brazilian honey here
That's too vague, honey production from Apis must be a couple orders of magnitude higher than from native bees. There's probably a significant overlap in the flower species they forage from and stingless bees still make different honey. Much of native bee honey is likely produced and sold without registration. Honey isn't even the point of keeping those bees, just a precious byproduct of pollination.

The brick was the dark, red-orange color, with black coloration, soot maybe. The building sit on a terrace, so there was a lower level, and an upper. Down there, within the building was grass, and maybe even large rocks, in cliff-like arrangement and size. Steps led up to the upper level where I was, but at the opposite end of of the building. Hmm. It would be politics, or perhaps literature, but surely not philosophy, and I don't wanna add more to it in the gaeming thread, so here we are, JK Rowling.
Link again: https://www.jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues/

So these aren't just her thoughts about this tranny movement, and her struggle against, but one can filter out some other cool stuff. Remember the quotes are taken out from context to add my bs to it.
Liek she writes about that if she born 30 years later, she herself might have been considered this trans fad to get into. She seems to hated herself and her womanhood in her teenage years. And she says:
>believe I could have been persuaded to turn myself into the son my father had openly said he’d have preferred.
So being all feminist, is basically her dad did not love her enough, did not accept her as is.
Then:
>Simone de Beauvoir’s words: ‘It is perfectly natural for the future woman to feel indignant at the limitations posed upon her by her sex.
S. de B. was a feminist philosopher. Quite interesting she doesn't blame the patriarchy to imposed limitations on women, but says their sex does that. It seems she really knew the difference between man and woman. It quite questions the attitude of feminism our day who just want women to be men. (And not in the tranny way.) Questions those who claim women can do anything just as well as men. Be it shaving their moustache, manspreading, or sumo wrestling.

I'm not finished with the article yet. But it's getting late. She writes well (she's a fucking author of books, I would expect her to do so), and it's easy to read. Maybe Bernd should too.

Bernd 02/19/2023 (Sun) 14:59 [Preview] No.49844 del
Another one. Seems the most recent, from last October.
https://www.jkrowling.com/opinions/my-article-for-the-sunday-times-scotland-on-why-i-oppose-gender-recognition-act-reform/
The second argument is that men who transition, uniquely among all other categories of those born male, never harm women. Yet there is no evidence to show that trans women don’t retain male patterns of criminality. According to Jo Phoenix, Professor of Criminology at the University of Reading, “Sex is the single strongest predictor of criminality and criminalisation. Since criminal statistics were first collected (in the mid 1850s) males make up around 80% of those arrested, prosecuted and convicted of crime. Violent crime is mostly committed by males…This remains the case regardless of stated gender identity.” The Ministry of Justice’s own figures show that there are proportionately more trans-identified men in prison for sexual offences than among incarcerated males taken as a whole.
So it is fine to label a group of people sharing a certain characteristic and claim they are dangerous in this case, but it's not fair racist to say that another group of people sharing certain characteristics has X amount of share in certain crimes and are dangerous in another case?
Nobody but the very naive can fail to be aware that predatory men are capable of going to great lengths to gain easy access to victims, and have often sought out professions or special status that offer camouflage for their activities. Sex offenders have historically been found amongst social workers, teachers, priests, doctors, babysitters, school caretakers, celebrities and charity fundraisers,
We have a saying: opportunity makes the thief. I think most people did their predatory thing, because they could in these positions and jobs, it was too easy, and lack of self control made them predators, and not consciously sought out, occupied these jobs and positions so they can predate, they weren't predators first and seek ways to make it easier to do their thing.
But I do agree with one point of the article, that there will be men who exploit the possibility of claiming to be trans, to use it in their own advantage in one way or another.
Another thing I do not like, that she (and her sisters-in-arms) think that society is divided into two hostile groups men and women, where men do nothing just victimize women; and they don't think society is one group, where individuals do harm to other individuals and the society as a whole.
Noone talks about the men who were victimized by men, robbed, beaten, raped, or murdered. Noone talks about the abused men, both physically but mostly emotionally, who are oppressed by exploitative women; who can't ask for help because they get shamed and ridiculed, or can't defend themselves fearing from getting shamed, or harmed, labeled in front of whole society, fear from abuse by cops, or inmates. They fear of giving a fucking slap - not a beating, a slap - because they might face repercussions they couldn't handle. Noone talks about children abused by their own mother, both psysically but mostly emotionally, who can't even comprehend what's going on, and grow up into a broken person.

I dreamt I was walking down the streets and was talking to someone.
The place looked like a village with old school abode peasant houses (nor Kádár-cubes, or these current new constructions) with old dark tiled roofs, with small yards used as vegetable garden. The houses weren't look new, weren't in really bad condition either, but the wire net fences look rusty and old. The fruit trees in the gardens had no leaves and there were no veggies in the gardens just the prepared beds. The roadside grass was green and lively however, so maybe it was early spring.
The road we were walking on had tarmac, the roadside had grass, the ditches of the drainage, then more grass. I don't recall sidewalks. There was a bus stop, and a small roadside market at one point.
The topic of the conversation I had with the man I was walking on the road was a radio personality from the '50s or '60s maybe, I can't really tell. He had a Jewish sounding name and was on the radio frequently, most of his work tied to it. He is a fictitious person my mind generated, kind looked like a bald Allende. And my conversation partner walking along me might have been him as well. He received with much indignation when I told he was part of communist propaganda.

Stray cats here often have owners who don't or can't prevent them going about. I guess lot just born outside somewhere where the preggo momcat thought it's a good shelter to give birth. Sometimes someone claims ownership.

I made a post a long time ago about building a house but I still haven't...
I looked into it but costs are actually a lot more than the website will tell you, they say $150,000 but actually by the time you put the foundation in and all that it becomes $230,000, more if you add landscaping and such.

Anyway so now I think my options are either buying a unit in the area I am in or building in the middle of nowhere, I found some really nice 2 acre blocks of land somewhere quite green where I could build on and have some goats or a pony. But it's 6 hours drive from the nearest city(but about 30 minutes from a large town).
Living in a unit sounds annoying and tough and obviously less peaceful than living on two acres but it's the distance and the unknown that bothers me.

So I have to make a tough decision.

This is of course an important item and one that's orderly functionality is mandated by the administration of my country of residence, leading me to have to address this issue in as timely a fashion as I might be able to do so.
With good fortune I am happy to report that this endeavour was brought to a satisfactory conclusion and the acquisition of the required item was not unduly impeded in such a way as to cause undue vexation. I had at one point a momentary inability to comprehend the vernacular of the good gentleman of whom it was the responsibility to identify the required item and then to retrieve it from the inventory of the enterprise in which he was employed. But this was overcome and the condition of my automobile was brought about to a point in which it may now traverse along the public avenues of conveyance in a manner compliant to the local laws and in a manner which will not unduly cause frustration to fellow traverses of said public avenues of conveyance.

I am now working as a mentor to a junior programmer in my job after working in my current role for almost 1 year. And I constantly have to tell him what to do and how to code the right way.

There was a time when I was being told what to do and what not to do. But now it's the other way around.

Time flies and the world really does turn around I guess. I was the learner at first, now I make other people learn. We'll see where this current role takes me though.

I have been playing around with Blender and Unreal.
I watched a tutorial series on Youtube about Blender and made this.

Both programs are quite complex, obviously, there is a lot that they both can do. In both cases some things are a easier than one would think but others are more finicky.
There is a lot of back end stuff on Unreal that you have to deal with, it's not programming persay(though you can program instead if you want), they use nodes in something called blue prints. But that's the backbone of the game and what everything relies on but it's also annoying and time consuming. But then there are all sorts of assets on the Unreal marketplace including many that deal with blue prints.

Ahh, cool. I'll keep the thread open but right now I am playing with Unreal not Blender but I want to make a gun and some other assets to put in my game so I'll be going back to Blender soon.

It's general 3d thread too. So don't really matter what tools you use, you can post there, won't be offtopic.

I should also mention, this is an Australian army channel, they have released a few fairly well polished videos recently about important battles in Australian military history.

I wonder if the routing Korean units could have been stopped and recruited to do fortification works, and perhaps create some reserve from those who are willing to fight. But ultimately Chinese were stopped so.
Bombing own/allied units is a surprisingly common phenomenon.

Particularly for the US, what was that WW2 Joke again? Something like,
When the British fly over the Germans duck, when the Germans fly over the British duck, when the Americans fly over everybody ducks.

Ack bernds, the junior developer we hired just ruined the entire code base. I had to spend a long tiem fixing everything up and my boss got angry at me for things not working. So me and my boss just went and agreed that we should just let him go, after explaining to him why the junior dev crashed all the code.

I gave the junior a lot of code feedback and best practices advice, but he never listened to me and did everything all crazy like. Some people just don't wanna hear when you talk with them.

I also was suppose to be getting a new position and raise soon, but nothing really came of it, YET. Some people in charge of handling that are on paternal leave, so dunno what's going to happen next. Maybe I'll wait.?

That looks raly tasty bernd. Maybe add some steam around it so it looks like they just got cooked recently.

Those are all just routine habits everyone forgot their origin, and circumstances that called them into existence might not exist. Or was a misunderstanding in the first place.

I mean, it's just that he always shipped buggy code. He never tested his code so I just had to fix everything he made or let him know that he shipped code that was bad. It was a little too much. Maybe I should have mentioned that earlier.

I dreamt they made a "negotiating table", a table with built in computer with on board "AI interpreter" and speech generator, which translates everything said around it in the voice of those who spoke - obviously for international meetings.
In the situation I witnessed the international parties were all the Presidents or PMs of Anglo countries, from all around the globe. So whoever spoke, the lines were repeated in English for the others present.
And not just that! The table picked up hushed talk, unrelated to the discussion, and randomly repeated them when it couldn't make out what was said by the one who was talking. Such sentence/half sentence was Biden's comment to some assistant about some diarrhea, so this was repeated occasionally. At one point after such occasion Ms Harris cried out:
>For fucks sake!
The situation was hilarious. All these politicians, from the top of their governments sit around, listened what each other said twice sometimes with that diarrhea comment mixed it. But they sat there with forced expressionless face, pretending not noticing the absurdity of the situation because those who manufactured that piece of furniture were those who financed their election campaign. It was a "the emperor is buttnaked" situation.
For me it was so funny, that started to laugh and woke myself up with the laughing. I did giggled for a while.

Dreamt another humorous that made me laff. Extremely unusual.
It was about a movie. I watched it and/or observed it made. It was an awful movie, amateurish, low budget, with noname actors. The actors and crew was an assorted one, it turned out one of them was Hungarian. He was looked a bit like Santiago Segura (Torrente), and he was dumb. He pretended he knew his job, knew how to act. He also pretended knowing languages, or at least English.
For some reason the movie got some award and he had to give a speech in English. He read some lines with zero English pronunciation, frankly like how he would in Hungarian, and one of the word sounded like a Hungarian profanity and that tickled me enough to laugh a bit. Then he gave another speech, or perhaps it was actually an interview. They asked him something and he did not know what to reply. He was like "uh, ah" and the situation started to get embarrassing as he was hemming away. Then an associate there on the stage tried to save the salvageable and gain some time and said he is actually Muslim and he has to pray to Allah first. Here I laffed again, and shook me up to wake.

>Maybe it's easier to say it that way
It is. Hungarian language does not like consonant congestion, and would insert a vowel inbetween consonants. Second best would be adding a consonant after, which gives the impression that the word consists of two syllables.
So.
Lidl -> Lidel or Lidil / lid-li
