I've been on the sharty since early 2022, there were always obnoxious moralfags but I don't think that the overblown moralfagging is really the main problem with the site nowadays, it's more of a symptom. I think the problem with the site is how seriously it's taken now. Like, it used to be that soybooru and the wiki kinda just functioned as archives, now, they're pretty much their own spinoff communities that bring in droves of underage attentionwhoring retards who all eventually make their way to sharty and these people have drowned out the original population.
The soyjak wiki is a pretty good example of how things have changed, like you used to be able to just edit or make any page you want and it was more of a big shitpost than an actual source of information.
Other examples: the way the booru got turned into an actual forum, the existence of soyjak forum sites in general, integrity.js, IRC, media pending approval, the ban on userscript spam posting, the ban on proxies/VPNs, etc.
