Consumer choice and free market capitalism is almost an illusion at this point. Today the US government subsidizes corporations with taxpayer money, so there is little to no incentive bothering to make good quality products because those subsidized corporations do not have to compete with a fair competitive marketplace. That's why we consumers get cheap ass shit that constantly breaks down within two to three years just to be replaced with more cheap shit later on. Reminds me of all the reports of US military equipment and hardware getting blown to pieces in Ukraine with ease, just to be reproduced with more taxpayer money to be blown up in the near future.
