I like to watch older cooking shows like Earl Peyroux (Gourmet Cooking) and Jeff Smith (The Frugal Gourmet). They both taught me how to cook when I was younger. Cooking is a hobby for me, my family almost never goes out to eat, only rarely as a treat. I also get good ideas from other obscure cooking channels on Youtube.

I recently tried a cooking tip that worked wonderfully: how to tenderize a steak naturally using pineapple. I tried marinating a sirloin steak for 45 minutes and indeed it made the steak so much more tender, almost too tender, melt in your mouth. Next time I try this I'll marinate for 30 minutes and see the results.

Just an update, last week I did get to try this "pineapple disintegration" marinate technique again, this time as promised trying it for only 30 minutes. The steak came out very tender this time too, almost made no difference between 45 minutes and 30 minutes. It could be the difference between the thickness cutting of the steaks? Maybe the first being a 1/2inch cut and the second time being 1/3inch cut? Don't know but I should have kept track of the thickness. Next time I'm going to do this with a fat brisket roast for 40 minutes. I think with that thickness it should just make it just a bit more tender than normal without risking it falling apart when cutting. One thing is for sure, the pineapple trick works well, but never try this too long or it can ruin your dish!

you can also do this technique with blueberries too; vinegar also works, but obviously imparts a vinegary taste

Then again, I can't really prove they were lying either, nor has anyone else proved Jeff was lying trying to defend himself. It did however destroy his career. I still say he was one of my favorite celeb chefs giving him benefit of the doubt.

Hollywood rarely makes good films anymore, if any at all that is. Some of the more independent films with start up actors have been pretty good from time to time. It's more hit or miss these days. 90% of the films I enjoy today are all from the 40s, 50s, 60, 70s and 80s. Few and far between newer or older than those years.
